When I activated my ARRIS router way back in 2019, I gave it a custom USERNAME and PASSWORD. I tried logging in today using the two I chose, or at least wrote down. It will not let me in. I tried the factory default (username: admin and password: password) No go. My question is...is there anyway to reset my logon username and password without doing a factory reset?

It seems you're unable to log in to the modem's GUI page because you're unsure of the custom password that was set earlier.
You can try using the default credentials:

Username: admin
-
Password: password
If these credentials don’t work, unfortunately, the only option left is to perform a factory reset on the modem to restore the default login information.
