The sb8200 is a 3.1 DOCSIS cable modem that provides internet through hardwire for wired when connected to a laptop or computer and wireless when connected to a router.
sb8200 works only with one ethernet port at a time, if want to connect both ports to the internet at the same time, need to activate the second port with a different IP by contacting Internet Service Provider.
After activating the second port now can connect it to a wired device like a laptop or computer and a wireless device such as a router.
