g36 wont connect to canon TR 150 printer

The printer won’t allow me to put in password for new router/modem. This replaces an older arris that was connected. Internet is working ok; printer shows the modem but won’t connect to it.

Since you are unable to connect the printer with G36, could you let me know whether the network name is broadcasting on the printer?

If yes, I would suggest changing the security mode by logging into the GUI web portal.

Launch a browser and enter the IP address in the address box as 192.168.0.1. Login with credentials > Gateway > Connections > Wifi > Networks > Edit 2.4Ghz.

Change the security mode to WPAWPA2-PSK (TKIP/AES).

Restart the printer and try connecting to Wi-Fi again.

Thank you for your reply. Someone found a solution for me. It’s an Arris router modem and it does not have a physical button to reset the (wps?). You have to go online to the modem software to “push” that button, then the printer can connect to it. 
It was a ridiculously obscure way to connect—it took my very techie neighbor a good hour to figure it out.
