I upgraded my modem from a sbg8300 and my new modem G34 is slower when it’s supposed to be faster what going on I feel like I spent 200 bucks for nothing do I need to turn something on from the surfboard app to make the WiFi speed faster?? I would like some help if not I’m going return it and go back to my old modem they told me I needed to upgrade since my modem outdated but why my old  modem faster  then the new one doesn’t make sense I’m lagging like crazy with this G34

Could you please let us know the name of your internet service provider and the speed plan you’ve subscribed to?

Regarding your SBG8300 modem, please note that it is not outdated. It is a DOCSIS 3.1 modem, just like the G34, and supports high-speed internet.

To confirm compatibility with your internet service provider, we’ll need to verify your speed plan.

Well I return the G34 and I upgraded to G36 and seem like I’m still having problem,  I have Xfinity and my speed is 1000 Mbps. Is there something I need to turn on for WiFi to be stronger?? My son lagging and it’s say Upnp not supported, I really like arris cause I didn’t have no problem with the old modem it’s wasn’t supporting the plan I have. I thought G36 suppose to be better but that doesn’t seem like that the case why are the number better on paper for G36 but when realistic hook up its doesn’t seem better then sbg8300 modem. I’m confused why their telling me my modem is not up to specs for my plan and they recommended G36 and seem like it’s worst

Would it be possible for you to connect a computer directly to the gateway using an Ethernet cable? This would help us determine if the internet drops and buffers only on the Wi-Fi, or if it affects both Wi-Fi and hardwired connections.

Make sure that the gateway is placed in an open area to minimize Wi-Fi congestion.
