can i upgrade my sbg6900-AC to the new 3.1? my cable company is changing their network to 3.1 and  sent me a new modem which i don’t want.. can i upgrade my current surfboard to accept 3.1? thanks

    The hardware in the SBG6900-AC only supports DOCSIS 3.0 and earlier.  It cannot be converted to D3.1 with firmware update.   

     

    You’ll need to replace your SBG6900-AC with DOCSIS 3.1 model like SBG8300, G34, or G35.  

    Current Setup: Sonic Fiber > G54

    Your DOCSIS 3.0 unit should still work with your cable company if you don’t want to upgrade
