Hi, I’m having trouble connecting a Simplisafe base station to my Wi-Fi and they said it might be due to being on the wrong bandwidth. I checked with Xfinity and they couldn’t help me since it’s not their equipment. The other things SS said was that their equipment wouldn’t work if we are using VPN. I explained to them that I have several devices from different manufacturers all connected to the Internet...no problem.

Would bandwidth and VPN be a problem?

SB6141 is just a cable modem so it doesn't have any information about band width so you need check with the router manufacturer about this since only Router will be giving the band width and also about connecting devices to the network is also depends upon the network you choose to connect. so for this case we would suggest you to check with your router manufacturer for more details.
