I've unplugged every cable, replugged, waited 5 minutes while everything was unplugged, waited 5 minutes after modem had solid light before powering the router, attempted powering both router and modem at the same time, tried timing them to be on at the same time, done a soft reset, and my modem still won't connect to wifi. Its done this before multiple times, but till now ive been able to resolve it and see it finally connect, but this time it will not. My asus router isn't old and it says theres a problem at the modem. My internet is fine. This only happens if the power goes out and it tries to reset.

“my internet is fine” But it only happens if the power goes out and you have to reset. Doesn’t seem like your internet is fine. Got a copy of the cable connections page and event logs?

"Power goes out" = I momentarily turned off and on the breaker and electricity cut to

the modem and the problem came up again. It's not my ISP. I've done a hard reset now (pressing reset for 30 seconds) and the modem still doesn't connect to internet.

ISP’s are always great at saying “its not our line” because if it is, it costs them money to send a tech out. So its always their default response.

We’d need a screensnip of the modems cable connections page (shows link back to isp) and the event logs from the modem.

When I attempt to go to the modem connections page it sends me to my asus routers page. My computer doesn't recognize my either of my ethernet cables, and I got 1 of the cables about 7 months ago

You’ll have identify which of the two connection points is broken. First turn off the power on the Wi-Fi router and the try the following:

  1. With the S33 powered on, perform factory reset by holding down the reset button for 30 seconds.
    • Wait for the LED to be Solid.  At this point, a device connect to the S33 would get a WAN IP address from the ISP.
    • If LED is blinking, the S33 is not connected to ISP.  Disconnect and reconnect coaxial cable, tighten by hand.
    • Make sure both Ethernet ports on the S33 are not connected
  2. Power on the Wi-Fi router and connect it to port #1 of the S33.
    • The Ethernet port LED on the S33 and Wi-Fi router should be active.  If not, possible Ethernet port failure.
  3. The Wi-F router should obtain a Public IP address from ISP.  You can check the WAN IP address in the Wi-Fi router settings.
    • If it’s not getting WAN IP,  try steps 1 - 3 with a laptop or desktop computer with ethernet cable.

When you power on both the modem and Wi-Fi router at the same time, the Wi-Fi router will fail to get a WAN IP address when the modem hasn’t established a connection with ISP.
