I activated my Arris SB8200 on Xfinity yesterday. It's not updating the firmware. I've restarted the modem at least 6 times. My Software Version is      D31CM-PEREGRINE-1.1.1.0-GA-11-NOSH. The current version seems to be AB01.02.053.05_051921_193.0A.NSH. Why isn't it updating? I also noticed there’s no Advanced tab in the menu bar.

This morning it updated to Software Version SB8200.0200.174F.311915.NSH.RT.NA
The "Advanced" tab was added to the menu bar, but no "Change User Password".

Cable internet provider pushes FW updates to cable modems per DOCSIS standard. They update FW at their discretion.

The SB8200 is a modem so it doesn’t have advanced settings you would find in wi-if routers.

In the SB8200 user guide, it shows a tab in the menu bar “Advanced” where you configure Link Aggregation . There’s also a tab “Change User Password”

which isn’t in my menu bar. When I type 192.168.100.1 in the address bar it takes me directly to the config page without requiring me to enter a username and password.

I agree you need a later FW to get those settings. Xfinity can only push the FW to the modem.

Try factory reset and see if a later Fw is pushed.
