is this svg2482ac cable modem updatable ?  there is problems with disconnecting a couple of times weekly and my landline shutting off after 30 minutes of use.

Hello Hutchb

svg2482ac is a gateway combination of modem and router with voice facility, updated like software or firmware updates The Cable Operators (MSOs) have complete control of what cable modem/gateway hardware they will allow installed and the firmware it uses, this is because they own the coaxial cable that is connected to the ARRIS (svg2482ac), because of that the Firmware updates are pushed by them, and any update needed as well. Any associated firmware updates are automatically deployed by the cable operator. This is not an ARRIS only implementation, but the required implementation of any cable device manufacturer.

If you are facing intermittent connection on WIFI and even on direct connection you need to check the cable signal level mentioned on the modem. please fllow the steps mentioned the below link to check the current signal label on the interface.
