We have a new modem (SB8200) and intended to use our existing Netgear router they do not want to talk. Any advice? Do we have to have an ARRIS router as well? That does not make sense when my prior modem was not Netgear.

What router is it from netgear?
Something to keep in mind with the sb8200 is that even though it has 2x ethernet ports, the vast majority of ISP’s only support 1 connected device. So power off the modem for 2 minutes (and the router.
then power the modem back on and connect the router to port 1. Wait 2 minutes from the modem to fully boot and then power on the router and run through its internet setup process.
