We just dropped our Frontier FiOS service (was formerly Verizon FiOS) and they told us to do whatever we wanted with the equipment.  One of the pieces is an Arris VMS1100 DVR.  We don’t mind giving it away *BUT* I would rather clear the hard drive first.  Found the manual and was able to get into the BUI (Basic User Interface) and found the manual states to go to 01 Diagnostics and within 5 seconds depress DVR three times and then FiOS TV.  We have several remotes and tried several of them.  Can get around the menus find but when we select 01 Diagnostics and then do DVR three times and then FiOS TV, it does absolutely nothing.  Just sits there on the Diagnostics screen.

 

Is there some trick we’re missing to clear the DVR hard drive?

Thanks for bringing this to our attention. Even though, ARRIS manufactured this device, this was for Service Provider usage, meaning that your Service Provider will give the support. I suggest to get in contact with them to get the solution to this.
