I am using a G36 as my cable modem, router, and core WiFi network.  I just added a W161 main and satellite mesh unit and installed the W161 in bridge mode so we will have one, unified network throughout the house. I was able to enable a guest network on the G36, but the Surfboard Central app won’t seem to let me activate a guest network on the W161. The W161 broadcasts a guest network, but I can’t configure it with a password. I’d like to have guest network coverage throughout the house, not just where the G36 broadcasts its WiFi signal.

Is a guest network not configurable if I’m using the W161 in bridge mode? If it is, how can I set it up (or, put another way, what am I doing wrong)?

Thanks!

Do you have G34 in bridge mode or can you able to access Wi-Fi from G34 even after connecting W161 to the modem?

It’s a G36. I don’t have it in bridge mode. I can access WiFi from the G36, which I need to do to cover the area in the house near that modem/router.

I request you to enable the bridge mode on G36 to connect with Max router W161.

Once bridge mode enabled on G36, I suggest you to setup the max router W161 through SBC app.
