mAX® DASH (WC4S)

Hi, I’m completely new to networking, so this might be a basic question, but I couldn’t find an answer online. I currently use Spectrum as my ISP. My setup is: Spectrum Modem → Spectrum Router → Switch → ARRIS Surfboard WC4S Mesh Router. Both the Spectrum router and the Mesh router are creating their own networks. When I check my IP on the Spectrum router’s Wi-Fi, it shows **76.33.184.xx**, but on the Mesh network, it shows **47.152.20.1xx**. My modem has the same IP as the Spectrum router. Ideally, I don’t want to use the Spectrum router, but I need it to access the full channel lineup on the Spectrum TV app, which only works on the Spectrum home network. For some reason, the Mesh router is giving me an IP that appears to be from Frontier Internet. The Mesh system was brand new when I bought it, and I’ve only ever used Spectrum as my ISP. I setup a G34 modem then later purchased a WC4T with 2 routers. After multiple cycles through the setup process I have the Modem wired to one of the WC4T with the second WC4T connected with no ethernet cables. All three have Wi-Fi enabled. I wasn’t able to have the Surfboard Central app connected to the WC4T and the G34 Modem at the same time. I don’t know if I would have been able to setup the system without a Computer to configure the G34 Modem and a Mobile device with the Surfboard app to configure the WC4T devices. It was frustrating to have continued failed attempts to setup a WC4T before realizing how to remove the G34 from the Surfboard app to get the WC4T to connect successfully. I then struggled connecting the second WC4T before only getting it to connect correctly without an ethernet cable attached. Pass → G34 wired to WC4T wireless to WC4TFail → G34 wired to both WC4T It took multiple days of trial and error to get to this setup. Is this the optimal setup? I’ve tried to put

I’ve set up my Surfboard mAX dash and whenever I re-open the app it wants me to re-select the device and go through the steps to set up the network again. I’m connected to the WiFi network coming from the device the app thinks I need to set up, seems like an issue in the app but I can’t figure out a work around. At one point, the app randomly opened back to the my network screen and I was able to add my satellite no issue. Ever since, the app opens to the “select your device” screen. Is this just a terrible bug with the app?

just setting up get all the way to registered device and goes to the user interface then flips instantly to setup again tried it on both units happens the same tried from android phone. tried again with iphone and cant get past registration. both units are accessable from wifi and can connect with any wifi device to them no problem just unable to load the user interface so i can add 2nd unit and modify the network. Anyone have any idea of a solution??

I have a SBG8300 connected to a WC4S router, with (2) satellites on separate levels. The top floor satellite is connected via ethernet to the main WC4S router. Why are devices that are right next to the satellite on the top floor connecting to the main router which is a full two floors below. It is creating a lot of instability in the system and the devices drop connection constantly. Why aren’t the devices connecting to the second satellite normally? On the Surfboard Central app, I cant find out how to determine whether the wired backhaul is active or not. How can I find this information?

I would like to set up my wc4s mesh network with wired backhaul. Currently I have a SBG8300 modem/router, and ther WC4S with 3 units. Is the best way to accomplish this following these steps: Set SBG8300 to bridge mode > Connect WC4S Main with WAN to SBG8300 > Connect (1) WC4S satellite unit via ethernet to LAN port on WC4S main There is only (1) available ethernet port on the WC4S after connecting it to the modem, does this mean only one satellite can be hardwired? Or, am I able to wire all satellite units directly to an ethernet port on the SBG8300, and have them all broadcast the same wireless network?

Surfboard Central would not let me add my second satellite. I uninstall and reinstalled the app to try to remedy this. It is not asking for me to add everything in my network all over again. Surely it should just remember the original information with a sign on? Am I missing anything?

I just received my SURFboard Max Dash AC3800, I've installed the first unit without any issues. However I am unable to install the second satellite, I don't even get the option to go through the setup process. I just keep receiving the same error code 0003-1009. I've been trying for over 24 hours, any help or assistance would be great, I've already disconnected my previous mesh system in favour of SURFboard. Without the additional satellite my WiFi devices are too far away from the main satellite to maintain a good connection.
