I have an HP-Color-LaserJet-CM1312-MFP printer that I am trying to connect via an ethernet connection to a  SBG7400AC2 gateway.  The printer installation program cannot see the printer.  When it was connected to my previous Xfinity gateway I had to set up a static IP address for the printer before it could be recognized.  I think I need to do that again But am not sure how to do that with SBG7400AC2 gateway or if I can add the printer to the network another way..  I have two Lenovo laptops that connect to the network either wirelessly or by ethernet when in their docking stations and need to connect to the Printer. .

Make sure you’re laptops are set in windows to “private” and not a “public” network.

That can cause issues with network discovery.

You might also want to check with the printer manufacture on support for their device
