I have Spectrum; I pay for 300 Mbps (w/only 10Mbps up). I have an Arris 6141 which claims to be able to do 343 Mbps. I can't seem to clock more than 255 Mbps. Should I call Spectrum, should I try another modem, or should I just be happy I'm getting 85%.

(Just in case anyone asks: I did plug a laptop directly into the ethernet line coming from the modem: I'm not going through any router).

I’d contact spectrum. They’re rated “up to 343mbps” but not all ISP’s certify them for it. They might not have it certified for those speeds because ISP’s have been increasing the requirements for certain speed tiers.
