I have a SB8200 modem and for no reason at all it drops our internet connection and I have to call for a paid service to walk me through the issue to correct it.  Have my computer connected to the modem and it says everything is working fine but the indicator lights are: power - solid green, Receive - solid blue, Send - solid green and online solid green.  I can access the internet when connected to the modem but my nighthawk router will not connect.  I have logged into the modem manager but don’t see anything out of line there either.  Any ideas on why I need to call for assistance one or twice a year to adjust my settings to allow it to work again?

Wifi - Netgear Nighthawk X6S, AC4000 Tri-band, model - R8000P

I called the support line. The issue was I wasn’t pulling an IP address.

I had to change the domain name server from get automatically from ISP to use these DNS Servers. Primary DNS 8..8.8.8 and secondary to 4.2.2.2

I also had to change the router MAC Address from “Use this MAC address” to “Use computer MAC address”

I’m not sure why it wasn’t pulling an IP address but this fix worked.  Previously on the “Internet Port” the IP Address was 0.0.0.0, and now it’s pulled public address.

Simple fix and hopefully it hopes someone save $50.00.

that’d be a router issue. Not a modem issue.

Yes, the issue was a router issue, not a modem issue.

the R8000P is getting a bit aged. I think it was released in 2014 and is EOL. Might be worth watching for an upgrade here at some point in the future.
