The SBG 10 spec says that I should have download speeds up to 686 MB per second, and Comcast says that my modem is an SBG1000 and incompatible with 75 MB per second. What's the deal? Is there a problem with Comcast or with my modem?

I use a VPN. Does this create a problem?

Not sure what the deal with Comcast but the SBG1000 is made by Motorola and doesn’t look anything like the SBG10.

Did you verify with serial number and HFC MAC address with Comcast?

You can check the model with ARRIS warranty checker https://arris.my.salesforce-sites.com/consumers/ConsumerWarranty

I am trying to change my current 50MBS plan and Comcast is making a determination of what my modem is and saying it is Arris SBG1000.... and that it is not supported for 75 MBS. I cannot change what they determined OR get ahold of them (I can't understand their dialects of English anyway) to get past this. I turned off my VPN and the result was the same. They also don't even show a SBG10 as an option in supported modems. Not even finding the SBG10 on the Surfboard site without using search bar. Is it already outdated?
