SBG8300 makes a whirring noise

My ARRIS SURFboard SBG8300 occasionally makes a whirring noise.  I've only had it for 7 months.  Should I be alarmed?  Thanks for any help.

Thank you.  Tech support says no need to worry, and that I should put the modem 5’ above the floor.  I’m supposed to monitor for a week and re-call tech support if whirring noise continues.
