I currently have a ARRIS SURFboard SBV2402 DOCSIS 3.0 Cable Modem which connects to Comcast/Xfinity cable service and includes Xfinity VOIP phone service. I’m currently dropping my Xfinity phone and switching to Vonage VOIP. My question is whether the VOIP capability in my ARRIS SBV2402 can be repurposed to support my Vonage VOIP connection. That is, is there some way that the SBV2402 can do the job of the Vonage adapter box?

No. There isn’t. That port is specifically for the ISP’s phone service.
