band sharing

I need to know how to set the modem to switch from 2.4 to 5g and vice versa, to meet the demands of video cameras on my home security system

2.4ghz has more range and penetrative power than 5ghz. If its at the edge of the 2.4ghz range, it’ll probably be beyond the 5ghz range. 5ghz is much shorter but a faster band.

Could you confirm the product’s model number to assist you further?

It’s the Surfboard S34, newly installed. Most of our devices operated adequately with current settings, but one security camera, furthest from the modem, routinely loses its connection. I think it's connected to the 2.4g band, but would like to try to set up band steering to allow using the 5G band if it provides better connectivity. I’m not savvy about technology, so let me know if I’m not making sense.
