I have a modem and have not used it for years. I do not have the password. How do I change the password without knowing the current one?

factory reset it back to stock. then the install guide should work

Current setup: Netgear CM3000-->Netgear RBE973S-->2.5gig tp-link switch, Xfinity 2.4gig/350mbps
