Does my Motorola surfboard cable modem model sbg6782-ac have a wireless repeater mode? I live in an apartment with wifi furnished free, but the password protection is weak. I’m hoping in repeater mode I can set up my modem to have stronger protection when accessing the internet.

No it doesn’t.
Potentially a standard extender would work but you might need one that supports wisp mode depending on your apartment’s setup. You might ask them what’d work best
“No, it doesn’t” provided me the incentive to buy a WiFi Extender. I was able to get it installed and operating today and now am protected on the internet with a strong password. Now Norton 360 doesn’t bug me about my weak password protection any more, but I’m still running VPN after satisfying my email server’s initial objections to using VPN. Happy days are here again!
