Woke up and had no wifi. Checked with ISP and there are no outages. Reset my router and now it only shows up under G34 and a string of numbers but still has our same password. When I pull it up in the surfboard app it still has the original name. I can log intoo our wifi under the g34 name on my phone but no network show up under the original name. I really don’t want to reprogram every device in my house to connect to this new random name. What’s going on and how do I fix it?

SB8200

SB8200 in warranty. All lights stuck on. no internet

My internet stopped working and when I went to reset my modem I noticed something odd, the lights aren’t going off. Now of course when I unplug it they go off but when I plug it back in they immediately turn fully back on. i tried resetting it with what I think is the reset button on the back (there is a hole but it’s not labeled) and also tried the IP for internet reset but it’s not coming up.

S33 | S34

S33/S34 2.5G port slow

I have Cox gigablast and was getting 940Mbps speeds with my Motorola MB8600. I’ve “upgraded” to the Arris S33 and S34 and I’m getting weird results with the 2.5G port. Both modem continue to download at 940Mbps when connected to the 1G port. However, when connected to the 2.5G port, I only get between 180-300Mbps. I’ve tried multiple laptops, desktops, and switches with 2.5G ports. I’ve also used Cat6a and Cat 8 cables but the results are all consistent. I would assume I would continue to get 940Mbps when connected to the faster 2.5G port. Also worth noting is that I do not get a link/connection light on any of the modems’ ethernet ports, but the respective activity light flashes green when connected to either port. And of course, I’ve rebooted the modem with and without the ethernet connected to either port. I returned the S33 thinking it was defective and the purchased the S34 which demonstrates the same issue.Is this a firmware issue or does the carrier need to enable the 2.5G port?

Internet randomly went out and my S33 modem would do one white blink then turn orange and blink slowly and kept repeating the cycle. I tried a to restart it and even plugged it into a different outlet. Making a squeaky noise as well. Contacted xfinity and they are stating it’s the modem. Any help would be great. Also warranty is for another year. Now it’s just staying the color white.

SBG8300

Wireless vs wired speed with SBG8300

I am currently using 1G service from Xfinity but will be switching to Quantum fiber next week - that will entail using a mesh network they will install and my Arris wifi cable modem will no longer work with the fiber service. I’ve been using a wired connection for my office computer and wanted to see what will change when it goes to a wireless (mesh) network after the fiber is installed. So, I ran some tests comparing the wired and wireless speeds from my current SBG 8300 cable modem.What I see is that I get 924/42 speeds from the wired connection and 380/41 from the wireless connection. The wireless test is using the 5G connection with my computer sitting 6 feet from the modem and no other devices currently being used. I also tested my speed in my basement using the 5G network and it also shows around 400/40. Presumably the 5G connection should be getting about double that - and I do get double with the wired connection. So, my question is why the wireless connections are so muc

Changing SSID and Password when logging into router

I don't have warranty on my modem. The model number that I have is SBG6700-AC. I've had it for a few years. In the past, I've always used this IP address http://192.168.0.1 and was able to login into the router using admin and password to go in and change the SSID along with the password. For some reason whenever I attempt to log in with that IP address on my laptop or smartphone, I get the message: This site can’t be reached192.168.0.1 took too long to respond.Try:Checking the connectionChecking the proxy and the firewallRunning Windows Network DiagnosticsERR_CONNECTION_TIMED_OI really want to change the SSID along with the password. Is there another way I can change the SSID and password?

having trouble hooking printer to svg2482ac - can't activate WPS on modem

My modem (svg2482ac) works fine for surfing the internet, as well as for my landline. My printer, however, is looking for a WPS connection in order to connect to the modem. I have tried restarting the modem completely from scratch and then pressing the WPS button on top of the modem. The WPS button will blink for about 3 or 4 minutes and then turn off. What am I doing wrong?

mAX Plus Mesh Wi-Fi® 6 Router (model W30 AX7800) - only compatible with 500Mbps Internet? Bridgemode?

There seems to be conflicting messages on the box / tech specs. For example, specs say Download Speeds: (Wi-Fi 6) speeds up to 7.8 Gbps , yet the box says “perfect for 500 Mbps speed internet plans”. Do i need to get 500Mbps plan or will 2 of these work for a 1000Mbps plan ? I prefer to get the 1000Mbps plan, use the xFinity Gateway and use BridgeMode with these 2 Arris routers. Thanks all!

SBG7400AC2 cannot change network name and passwords

I got a refurbished SBG7400AC2 and set it up today. I can connect but I want to change the network names/passwords. I went to the website 192.168.100.1 and put in a stronger password. Then I went to the configure screen and tried the new password, the default “password” and the last 8 numbers of the serial number but nothing has worked. I’ve reset to default settings multiple times but it still doesn’t work. Everything has gone smoothly until now but this is getting really frustrating. Can anyone help?
