eMTA - Voice enabled Modem/Gateway
Hi, I have received the TG2482 from my internet provider. In the spec sheet it says: remote WebGUI access. How can I access this router remotely from WAN?I have not been able to find anything in the manual or on the locally accessed web interface.Hopefully somebody can help.Thank you in advance.
I have a T25 on Xfinity.I tried to logon to the modem at 192.168.100.1 and username “admin” password of “password” returns invalid credentials.I don’t remember changing it, but I probably did at some point. How do I reset the device to default username and password? I’m sure I’ll have to re-register it with Comcast/Xfinity for it to work again, but that’s no big deal.I need to get information off of it, and see if maybe there’s a firmware update available, etc.
I found that my T25 has the following firmware:Firmware Name: TS11.02.057.12_092820_711.PC20.03Firmware Build Time: Mon Sep 28 17:37:14 EDT 2020 Three years seems awfully old. I contacted Comcast, and they supposedly pushed a firmware update, but I didn’t see a change. Does anyone know what the latest firmware version is? Thanks.
I am trying to log into the admin page 10.0.0.1 and nothing is working. Our modem is not talking to the router. I think my husband reset or it got disconnected but trying to see what the problem is. Side note...having to pay for help is ridiculous when you purchase this product... I'm very frustrated
I have the Arris TG6452, & it was strange that I also had issues after Nov 1st 2023, but I was getting "operation failed" when setting up devices I wanted to block from wifi during specific hours at night. Then, later when I wanted to delete them, I got error message. So, only thing I could do was to change the time to a couple minutes. So, I'm guessing it was the firmware update that screwed things up. My ISP (CasCable) in WV had no clue, and I got no help. I hate to think I must do a factory reset! I rebooted it several times and also unplugged trying that with no luck. I set up parental controls to block websites, and search terms. So, now I'm afraid if I block a site that later I want to remove, it might not allow, & go to error. Or, even a device. I'm a novice at it. When I access the reports, I'm not sure how accurate they are. Plus, timestamps don't seem accurate. Trying to block porn sites, I think it helps some. PS. It's not a child's phone, it's an adult using my
reference: ARRIS SURFboard T25 DOCSIS 3.1 Gigabit Cable Modem bought from AmazonXfinity has not fixed or identified any issue on their end. I’ve spent two 3 hour sessions with their support computers, techs, and elevated support. Xfinity support confirms we have the latest firmware, and have reset the modem many times as have I. I’ve tried several phone systems that perform on other systems as they should. (panasonic and Vtech). I’m reaching out to see if this is an issue with the T25 itself, as I have really run out of things to try. Any help, direction would be greatly appreciated.
I just received a warning from Apple on my Iphone about my security, advising to use WPA 3 security on my modem and take some other steps. Before I did anything I wanted to be certain my cable modem was still viable and a search got me to this group. I didn’t know about this group or the firmware upgrade issue previously. Unfortunately, I can’t check that my SVG2482AC’s firmware is upgraded since there’s some glitch in the password - the admin/Password combo worked once to get me in but when I updated the password, the new and the old passwords both return error messages. My next step is resetting the modem if I can’t get past the logon problem. It sounds like it’s still worth the effort and I appreciate the work it took getting Comcast to do what they agreed to do. Comments appreciated.
I am getting intermittent connection drops. Comcast told me the check that I have the lastest firmware version. It looks like the firmware is updated automatically, as needed. How does the auto update work? I have Arris SVG2482AC. Comcast knows I have it. Does Arris? Again … how do the firmware updates work.
My surfboard SVG2482AC just started disconnecting from the internet and coming back. It started a couple weeks ago, just once here and there. As of today, I’m lucky to get 30 minutes. I can’t get through a single 45 minute meeting (I get paid by the hour when I’m meeting a client and nothing if I can’t make it).I’ve tried hitting the reset button when it doesn’t come back immediately. I’ve done this a dozen times. Just now I tried unplugging it altogether from the power for over 10 minutes. The power to my house is fine. The power light on the modem rarely goes off and the phone plugged into the modem and the outlet doesn’t lose power. Nothing else in my house is without power or turning on and off. I bought this just 2 years ago and was working great until now. (also, this question took 30+ minutes to get through with all the starts and stops)
I have an Arris T25 router in place for a few years and suddenly, it seems that it is blocking traffic coming to my router on Port 21. I need to see my settings, but entering 192.168.86.1 into a browser simply tells me it’s ONLINE; it doesn’t show me my settings. Can you please tell me how to see my settings?Thank you.Len Jacobson
I’m using a SVG2842 phone enabled Arris modem/router. My IP address page looks different from some others who have shared screen shots of where they found their system and event logs. Mine is a different website. When I go to the logs page, it produces no logs. I’ve tried over several days. Screenshot here with greyed out logs circled in black. When I hit the show logs button, it has a dialogue box that says this will take a minute and then produces nothing. I need these to show Xfinity. I’m one of the unfortunately folks who lost internet access this week because my Arris surfboard keeps rebooting (never loses power). It doesn’t stay on for even an hour. Yet I have no logs to show.
I bought a Arris SBV3202 cable modem in 2019 and have been using it on Comcast. It was on their approved list of modems. I am paying for Superfast 800Mbps internet service, and I was achieving 600-700Mbps regularly over the last several years.Over the last few months (since I have noticed), the speed has been consistently 200-300Mbps. Comcast checked it out today, and told me my modem is defective and needs to be replaced. My modem is no longer under warrantee. Is my modem defective, or has Comcast changed their requirements? Do I need a more modern model, like one with DODISS 3.1, or something? Do I need a firmware update? Any ideas? It is hard to get a straight answer out of Comcast customer service. If it is defective, the only Arris Voice model that is now recommended by Comcast is the T25. It’s max speed is 925Mbps, which isn’t much of an improvement from the SBV3202, other than it is a DODISS 3.1. Is the T25 a good replacement voice modem?
