SVG2482AC Gateway Default Passwords Not Working
Hello Surfboard community! I have a used SVG2482AC Modem that I am using with my Xfinity internet service that I am having trouble setting up.I have setup and registered my modem with Xfinity customer service and I am able to connect to the internet through the modem via ethernet. I setup a Wifi network name and password through the initial Web Manager login page but cannot locate that Wifi network on any device I have (phone, laptop, Xbox). I have been trying to log into the Gateway/Web Manager using the default “admin/password” as many different people/help forums suggested and that combination does not work. I have tried so many combinations and keep getting 5 minute timeouts. I am hoping someone here may know how to help before I try paying money to the Arris customer service support or buying a separate router. The image below is what I see on the login page. When hovering over the wifi symbol in the top right the message reads: “Status: Unconnected no Devices”. I’m wondering if t
Turn off led lights
Suggestions on how to disable or dim the led lights on my Surfboard SVG2482AC? The modem lights up my whole room at night. Taping front doesn’t work (light splashes out the side) and not seeing an option for disabling in the admin software area. I’ve resorted to throwing a dark cloth over the unit but it runs warm and weakens the signal.
Can't connect to T25 web manager
Just got a T25 for the voice support (the SB8200 did not support voice) - the BlueGlobe service is just too expensive - got it connected and had to call Xfinity and get everything straightened out…First, I cannot figure out how to connect to the T25 for the Web Manager… I’ve been searching the web and trying to add a route in my router (running DD-WRT on an older Belkin unit F7D7301 model) with no luck - I am not a noob with tech, but some things are still a ‘head scratching’ moment to me… Need more info about my situation? Please ask…Secondly, and this might be solved once I get web manager access, is that the T25 seem to ‘drop’ data service at least (haven’t tried voice calls yet when data is out..) once a day. DISCLAIMER: My T25 was just installed Friday 5-19-23 and today is Saturday 5-20-23..
Uncorrectables with MODEL: TM3402A
Seeing large number of correctable and uncorrectable errors when accessing cable modem. Not sure what would cause these.Access cable modem info using 192.168.100.1and have setup a script that captures info every 30 minutes.#!/usr/bin/bashwhile :dowget2 http://192.168.100.1/cgi-bin/status_cgi --no-check-certificatesleep 1800donehave another script that extracts data into a spreadsheet, and then note changes in max errors from each 30 minute block.Latest results With comparison date of different blocks looking like this. Looked for info on what powerlevels and other things should be.Saw one thing saying the powerlevels should be between 15 and -15?Was getting numbers lower than -15, so disconnect everything but cable modem, and got power level numbers to sometimes have levels in positive range and under -10. But even then would see these correctable and uncorrectable numbers spike at time.Don’t know if these are normal or not. Occasionally have lost network access and rebooting modem brin
T25 keeps losing internet connection
I bought this house 2 years ago and I hired an installer to setup my wifi as I was moving from out of state and wanted things setup before I got here. Otherwise I consider myself very tech savvy as I was previously a network admin at a large international law firm, and I would have done the install myself. We have Xfinity here and he suggested outright purchasing a T25 modem instead of renting. Having previously owned a Surfboard modem when I was on Optimum for nearly 20 years and having almost no issues it, I said that would be fine. It was working flawlessly up until about 2 months ago. I work from home and during business hours, I can not have down time. I use a PC and laptop, both of which are hardwired to a TP-Link Archer C5400. I had a 2nd Archer A20 hardwired to the C5400 operating as an access point. One day, suddenly, my entire house lost internet connectivity, nothing hardwired or wireless was able to connect to anything. I rebooted the C5400 thinking that was the issue but
dont make sense
I have a svg2482ac bought it from ebay (seller was rude afterwards) and after getting Comcast to hook it up and get it activated is when the fun started. Downloaded the android app for it and all but then I went to connect my cell to it and it didn't even show the same name as the modem. It showed something like moto**-5g (don't remember all of it) so I try to put in the 5g password and it said wrong password so fir the next 2 1/2 hours I try everything I can think of reset modem, try and chat with ARRIS try and find the code to scan and it don't even have a thing to scan. The seller won't take it back and ebay is worthless so I'm out money for someone else's problem. Don't buy from Hannu-cod unless you like to get the shaft. I am.open for any and all help.
Intermittent Connectivity Issue
Hi everyone. I am new to the community and would greatly appreciate someone's help with my issue. I am using an SVG2482AC modem/router to connect to Comcast/Xfinity internet. After years of nearly uncompromising connection I have begun to have loss of connectivity at least every few days and sometimes daily for short periods. My ISP assures me that my connection is fine and referred me here for help. I must say I was surprised to see at first glance that there are others experiencing my problem. My cables and connectors are fine and I even have my modem connected to a UPS because of my security system and smart devices. Do I need a firmware update or setting adjustment in my modem?
Xfinity Voice Activation fail (but data works)
My new SBV3202 was recently activated and data works.Voice on new modem has never worked (the Voice Line LEDs on modem do not turn on) and no dial tone from either Tel port.I have done Modem Resets, and used the Xfinity ‘Activate Voice’ page.My telephone works fine - same one used with previous (netgear) voice modem.Talking with Xfinity is such a pain… thot maybe there was a modem setting I should try first? Thanks.
Activation on Xfinity without Phone
I have a Netgear modem connecting to Xfinity. I have a new SBV3202 that I want to replace the Netgear with. Per instruction from Xfinity, I installed their app on my phone….and assume it would allow me to ‘activate’ the SBV3202 after I swap out the Netgear. However, I am in a ‘dead’ cell service area….phone only works thru wifi. Can I activate the SBV3202 without the xfinity app?
TG2482A i can't find any update for my device.
I try to access the configuration of my router, and everything is in order, the problem is that I cannot access its advanced configuration, the option simply does not appear or it appears in a gray box, I cannot change anything, I can only access the basics and I need change some settings in the "Advanced" section, I think it's because the firmware is not updated and I can't find information about it. I hope someone can help me, thank you very much for your time.
I have xfinity cable internet and use the Arris SVG2482AC modem/router. My PC is connected to the modem via ethernet. I’m trying to use a streaming audio app call JamKasam. It requires very low total latency. I’m have lots of audio dropouts and the program is indicating that the network jitter is intermittently high. Xfinity claims it’s the modem so want to get some info on how I may reduce the jitter on the Arris modem. Any thoughts?
