I want to be able to change/create my own router admin password instead of having Surfboard Central create a fixed one for me. I couldn't find that option on the Surfboard Central app (android). Then I went over to the web GUI and when I go to change password, it gives you a warning to change the password in the Surfboard Central app for syncing purposes, but also has an option to ignore. Went back into the app and dug around in detail and there is NO CHANGE PASSWORD OPTION.

Found a one year old post with my exact issue, but there was no definitive answers except to confirm that the app assigns a password and it cannot be changed.

So, the question remains. Can I ignore the warning in the web GUI and change my password without it creating issues for me?? This is a huge security issue to not be able to create my own password.

We understand that you'd like to change the web manager password. Unfortunately, once the Surfboard Central app has been paired with your device, only the password generated by the app can be used to log in.

Note: The password generated by the Surfboard Central app is unique, and every user of the app has their own distinct password, just like yours.
