For the past few weeks my internet has gone out almost every day.  Resetting the modem seems to fix it, at least temporarily.  I’ve talked to Xfiniity several times and they say I should replace the modem, yet several nearby neighbors have had the same issue and it’s unlikely that all of our modems would malfunction at the same time.

Unfortunately I don’t have much expertise with modem/internet setup and I have no idea how to troubleshoot it.  Any advice?

Are you facing intermittent issue only on WIFI connection or even with direct connection?

Have you tried changing WIFI channel on the modem interface for both the 2.4 and 5G?

Have you done checking the cable signal level on the interface?

Please help us with the firmware version on the modem.

Thanks for this information, I really appreciate it.

Husband set this system up; he passed away last year and I’m trying to sort it all out.

We understand that you’re facing a bad intermittent issue and Sorry to hear the news on your side.

Were you able to check the cable signals and change the  Wi-Fi channels?

Also, please check with you’re ISP (Internet Service Provider) about whether the co-axial cable is good enough without any cuts or loose ends/cable lines are proper as well
