SB8200 Error log

I am having an issue with something eating my allowed data for the month. I have never been over before and I am now over by more that 200GB. through the process of trying to track stuff down I can across the error log and I am curious as to what all this means.

It means you have errors in your line and something causing power changes that put the connection out of spec. 

Start with removing any amplifiers, signal attenuators, or splitters from the coax.
From there check the line for kinks, damage, moisture in the line.
Check the connectors for improperly made ends, foil touching the copper coax line, loose connections, bad/old/cheap connectors, or corroded connections. Replace them if you do.
If you can, simply connect the modem right where the coax comes into the home. This prevents wiring in the home from being the issue. And some ISP’s charge if the wiring issue is in the home. So this helps prevent this.

 

This isn’t whats causing your data usage but it can help with optimizing your modem connection for better speed/stability. 

 

Current setup: Netgear CM3000-->Netgear RBE973S-->2.5gig tp-link switch, Xfinity 1.4gig/240mbps
