xfinity activation restore

I need to factory reset my modem router, I remember when I moved to this house that it was quite an adventure to make this modem work with xfinity, and I would not like to have problems between the modem and the company again, so my question is... After the reset, will I have to call again and share the modem data or should it work when I connect the cox cable again?

SB8200 issue after moving - No internet

After moving to a new location (moved to an older house as opposed to being in an apartment), SB8200 can’t establish a downstream connection. Getting errors very similar (almost exact same status message) to the ones in the following post:I also am getting multiple instances of “UCD invalid or channel unusable” and “No ranging response received.” Modem has worked for 2 years and has only started failing after the move. Checked and the warranty has expired in March of this year. Any suggestions on how to fix this issue? Thanks!

our wifi is out and our provider sent is to arris for a solution - SB8200

Before I go into detail, I want to proactively thank  this community for the help you can provide us.  Thanks!!  Our Wi-Fi account is no longer available on our house system. Our WiFi provider did several tests/checks and said their signal to us was good. They referred us to Arris because we bought an Arris SB8200 modem and router which has worked fine so far. It sounds like we need help setting up a new account through your modem. I have no idea how to do that.

Cannot connect to 192.168.100.1 - Arris Surfboard S34

Just received my Arris Surfboard S34. Contacted Xfinity and have it activatedI have an ethernet cable connected from the modem to my computer.I cannot access: 192.168.100.1It reads: “Safari can’t open the page “192.168.100.1” because the server where this page is located isn’t responding.

Compatibility of S33 and S34 while enabling VPN on the devices

I have Spectrum 400MB plan.  Can I use either S33 or S34 modems?   Particularly attaching to company VPN.  I've been told that my connection has a lot of Jitter.  Will either of these devices help that?

My wifi fails to connect to Internet Every Morning - SB8200

I have bought a new modem SB8200 and router Tp Link Archer AXE75 for few months.On Saturday October 26, 2024, my wifi stopped connecting to Internet. I followed this site instructions https://www.tp-link.com/us/support/faq/1556/. I removed the power cable and coaxial cable from SB8200 modem, then waited for 1 minutes. I turned on the SB8200 modem and waited to for it to startup. After it booted up, I plugged in the coaxial cable and my wifi stopped giving “connected without internet” and everything was fine. But this happened on Sunday the next day, I redid the steps on I took on Saturday. And today, on Monday, I just unplugged the power cable from SB8200 modem and the wifi started working. I think my router is working fine because I don't have to restart it. But I really don't know which of the two, modem or router, is at fault.I hope to get some help to pinpoint the cause and fix this problem. Thank you for time.

ARRIS SURFboard mAX connectivity issue

When I try to access my ARRIS SURFboard mAX router, I get the following message:“The device or resource (the local IP-address for the router) is not set up to accept connections on port “HTTPS”.  I have been using the IP-address or xxx.xxx.xxx.1 on my local network.  Is that correct?  If not, what address should I be using?  If it is, how do I correct the issue?

GUI not working on G34

Just got a G34 cant get onto the GUI website. Fully set up in the app I tried hard resetting it fully none of the default passwords work admin wont work as the username it HAS to be an email the password I made for the Wi-Fi didn't work the default password on the back of the router didn't work after or before factory resetting it.  Please help this is annoying

SB8200 Ethernet Ports LED lights are off

Just want to confirm if the unit I got has busted ethernet ports. The front indicator lights on my modem and my ISP show connection is fine. However the lights by the ethernet ports don't seem to go on except when the device is first turning on. My router is showing no connection to the modem and tried the same with laptop with different cables and got the same thing. I assume the lights on the back by the ports should go on if the ethernet port(s) are working. Is that correct? Also I'm only using one port at a time.

SB8200 bricked and unresettable

Hi,I am having an issue with the modem where all lights are solid blue but the modem is not working.There is obviously no internet. However, even when I plug in ethernet to my computer, it does not even get detected as connected. I know its not the ethernet cable or computer because I plugged the same computer with the same cable into another modem and it detected it fine.  I tried restarted it (plugging it out, leaving it 10 mins and replugging it) and it immediately goes to the solid lights, no blinks or anything else. I tried pressing in the reset button for 4-5 seconds, nothing. Then again I restarted and I tried holding reset button for 10 seconds, nothing. Then I  again restarted and tried holding reset button for 30 seconds nothing. It’s as if its stuck. Like I said it doesn’t even get detected as plugged in into my computer so I cannot even use command prompt to diagnose it. The issue seems similar to  It is still under warranty until next year and I would like to get it repair

SBG6950AC2 Xfinity drop signal

 I’m dealing with constant internet drops on Xfinity and could use some advice. I have an Arris SBG6950AC2 modem/router, and Xfinity confirmed their signal is strong coming in, but they think the modem isn’t distributing it properly. They also mentioned this model might struggle with delivering not only the full 1Gbps speed, but not even close to 600 tops. Lately, the connection drops have been happening a lot more. Has anyone else had similar issues with this modem on Xfinity, or needed to upgrade to keep up with faster speeds? Does my modem needs firmware update?  Modem is out of warranty -  Do I need new one or this can be fixed ? Would love to hear your experiences or any tips on solving this!

need gateway address

I can't seem to use 2 devices with this modem s33.  On second device it asks for Ip address, prefix length, then gateway address.  Xfinity says they don't have it. Does anyone know how I can get the gateway address? Or do I have to wait until Monday morning to contact arris cs.

Iam looking for a modem or a workaround to disable internet access through a CAT cable. Any suggestions?

Hi Everyone,I have a couple of years-old Netgear router and a modem supplied by Comcast. I also have a teenage son who just can’t seem to learn when enough online gaming is enough. He connects directly to the modem via a CAT cable to avoid Wi-Fi lag, which means the options in the Netgear app for shutting off access don't apply since they only control the router.Aside from physically unplugging the modem, I’m looking for a way to remotely disable his access via the CAT cable, or I’m open to getting a new modem that allows for this. Ideally, I’d like a solution that lets me control it from the comfort of my bed. It’s been a long battle, and I’m tired of trying to instill personal responsibility—I'm looking for a switch solution. Any suggestions, especially regarding managing IP addresses and router settings?

SB8200v3 won't connect.

Upgraded SB6190 to SB8200v3 at professional office. Office has static IP from Optimum. 8200 is registered with Optimum. 8200 will not connect. Keeps going thru the boot process. Put the 6190 back in service, which is not registered at this point, and it connected within 2 minutes. Recently did same upgrade at my residence, 6190 to 8200v2. Called Optimum, registered the 8200v2 and online within a few minutes.

Sbg10 was purchased July 6. All the research was that Xfinity was cable. Tech told me today that it is fiber.I read on the aris page that the box was not returnable if opened. Can I return it?

So on my g34 the wireless connection works perfectly but my ethernet ports don't work at all I've tried getting new cables, restarting the router, resetting it and I've messed with the ethernet settings in the gui but nothing is making the ethernet ports work the lights are on but there not working
