G34 | G36

I purchased a new Arris G34 Modem on 1 November 2022, for some reason it keeps losing connection to the internet when i call my ISP provider they can see the modem but I have no connection to the internet.  So I do the reboot and have to do this several times during the week this is not right a new modem should not be acting this way when I call Tech support to day they tell me to monitor it for 24 hours.  I’ve monitored it for over 2 months of this issue this Modem is Defective why will tech support not address the issue????

When trying to login to the modem I am getting an Alert Window with the message “Please Login First!”This happens when using the correct password.   An incorrect password gives the message of Invalid Credentials.

I just got a new printer (HP 8022) I couldn't get it to connect to the G36. Everything else connects to it just fine. I decided to try another WIFI modem/router, so I bought a G34. After many hours of frustration I got it to connect thru WIFI on the G34. So I decided to reconnected the G36 and try it again. I have done basically the same things I did with the G34 and nothing. The printer shows up as a network as HP setup, but the printer its self will not see the WIFI network. I am not a expert of any kind but I have manually added the mac address for the printer, I have tried turning off the firewalls, I have changed the security modes, WPS and WIFI direct and still nothing. I have no problem with the printer when hooked up via ethernet cable? I cant figure it out. On the side note I no longer have the G34 So I really need this one to work.Any advice will be useful 

The g34 cable modem will not connect to the internet. The isp has activated the device. I only have one blue light strip at the bottom that glows solid blue. No connection to the internet.

I cannot see my G34 network on an older laptop. This is not a problem with the password not working.The laptop’s network adapter is 802.11 n, so it should work. It’s not even seeing the G34 as an option to connect to.

After installing & connecting via ethernet all my devices I let the network run a few days.  I logged in & out of gateway from mobile app & web browser, with no problem & was convinced everything was working well. I attempted to relocate the router to a central location & it took forever to come back online, nearly 40mins!!!  Now I’m having connectivity issues, cant log into mobile app or through web browser.Like many people, error message about my browser version not up to date, (turn off firewall) certificate errors,  (let anyone access), then finally the web browser loaded the login page after a long 10 min wait only to enter user & pass “Operation time out, try again” . so I click login. wait a long time as the system thinks it over only to get timed out again.  but next time a intentionally added a charractor to the password to see if I get time out error or invalid password. I can’t connect my canon mx922 printer to the surfboard G36 router, my network is up and running  but not able to connect the printer 

Tried to hook up my Linksys 6E mesh network, but appeared that I had too much interference with the 2.4\5 channels with the G365 so turned off wifi on G36 and still and dns issues is there a good mesh network that is designed well to work with the G36? Does anyone hard code 8.8.8.8 and 1.1.1.1 for DNS ? once I tried it, dns had issues so had to go back to automatic network selection

Good Day everyone: I recently upgraded my Cable Router and chose the G36, and have been pretty pleased with it so far. I have traditionally connected my laser printer to my Cable Router so that computers across the network, hardwired and wireless devices, could easily print to the Canon laser printer. I have plugged in the printer via an ethernet cable to the router, and I can’t find it, I can’t add it, and wireless printing is also unavailable. What setting on my G36 am I overlooking? Please help!

Connects fine with my phone but is not available to my other devices 

*Nevermind… I figured it out*  In my connected device list, a lot of them are showing unknown.  How to I find the devices MAC addresses so I can verify they are legit and rename them?  It’s weird this information isn’t listed… only the IP address is shown.

Had to upgrade to new ROUTER/MODEM. G34. Network test results : "HP printer is unable to connect to your wireless router". My MAC filtering IS turned off. DIAGNOSTICS RESULTS show everything good, EXCEPT under settings: no filtering  -FAIL.

On a fairly regular basis my G34 Wifi router/modem will stop broadcasting the SSIDs for 2.4 and 5. I’ve tried restarting and a reset. Nothing seems to make it stable. It still passes wired traffic and I have a TPLink AP that broadcasts without issue. None of the built in diagnostic tools are providing answers. 

Ethernet works, but I don't see WIFI.  Friends see “my” WIFI on their computers/smart phones. (I don't have a smart phone) When I log in to Surfboard, it says unsupported Browser.

Randomly at least 2x a day, the wi-fi loses connectivity. At the same time, the ethernet connection works as expected. Upgraded my modem/gateway/router from SBG6900 and G34 and immediately had problems with my TIVO mini’s being unable to connect to the Host DVR.  Problem lasted a couple of weeks with no help from ARRIS (assured me nothing internally was being blocked) or TIVO (couldn’t tell me what protocol they used for discovery).Problem was solved when I discovered the setting for “Zero Config” (Bonjour type discovery) under Advanced > Device Discovery > Zero Config was disabled.  Enabling it allowed my TIVO mini’s to immediately connect to the host DVR.  Note that this setting is on a page that is mainly about UPNP.This could affect anyone else who has printers or other devices that use the Bonjour Zero config capability to connect to one another.

I just setup the G36 Modem/Router & the Troubleshooting > Diagnostic Tools test fail while connected & online. This is with an Ethernet connection.Why is it failing?

Is there a setting that must be enabled to provide normal speeds through the 2.5g port? I’m unable to connect to the internet via the 2.5g port on the back of my G36 with more than minimal (under 1mbps) speeds.  I have Xfinity Gigabit (1.2Gbps) and with the 1g ports I can routinely get ~1Gbps with a wired connection. When I plug the same patch cable (both Cat5e and Cat6) into the 2.5g port, there is no signal to my office 4-port switch, and almost no connection speed to my laptop 4ft. away from the gateway.  Am I wrong in thinking that 2.5g port should operate the same, and better, than the other four ports?

I’ve spent a long time trying to get my HP Deskjet 4155e to connect to the WiFi on my Surfboard G34, which can’t seem to find the networks I’ve set up even though I set the printer right next to the gateway.  When I called the HP tech support, they keep telling me to call the ISP and get them to separate the 2.4 GHz and 5 Ghz networks, but Spectrum says they can’t do that because I own the modem/router.  What exactly does it mean to separate the 2 different radio networks, and can I do that? So far, I’ve tried turning off the 5Ghz networks, but that hasn’t worked.

Hello I purchased the gateway G36 approximately 10 days ago. When attempting to link my Sony  bravia tv it says cannot find also it will not link with my up with my Wyze smart plugs and my Wyze v2 cameras 

I’m trying to set up my new G36 modem and keep getting stuck at the security check page as the Captcha is blank  I go into 192.168.100.1 and the captcha is blank there as well  suggestions?  

Let me start with - I’m basically computer challenged, however I did manage to set up my G36 using the tools provided.  Now I’m trying to set up my ancient HP Officejet 4630 and have spent about 2 hours so far.  It will not connect.  I printed the troubleshooting page and it indicated that “MAC address filtering may be enabled on your wireless router, which can prevent your HP printer from connecting...during setup.”.  I went in to the Surfboard website and manually entered the MAC address (under custom) for the printer and clicked enable.  Still no luck.  I’m hesitant to try clicking or changing anything else until I get someone with knowledge that can walk me through it.  Thanks!

will this Surfboard Central app connection error ever get fixed? I just bought the G34 unit and have successfully activated plus ethernet-connected the unit (@900Mbps) and use 2 active wifi channel. The 192.168.0.1 web management pages are fine but the Surfboard Central app is still in Beta as far as my experience with this error 0000-1612.This all appears not that critical BUT because of web’s Account Mgmt Warning:To keep your account password in sync, it is recommended to update is using theSURFboard App rather than changing it here.This suggests one needs this Surfboard Central app to work properly to change passwords.

What is the upload speed of the G34?
