G34 | G36

I got a ARRIS G34 cable modem with WIFI.I had to remove the Surfboard app on my Samsung S25 ULTRA and reinstall it.having trouble connecting to it. I think it’s looking for the original log on info like G34-BF59-2 or G34-BF59-5G-2 and the numerical password. I have since changed the WIFI names and passwords.is it possible to change one back to the one of above settings and log back in with the app.or do i need to reset the entire modem…..why can’t they make it easy for people to connect the app to the modem.

New G34 from Amazon, the only page I can connect to is the router page, but the modem shows no issues and I can ping just fine. (Edited private information)

I bought a G36 to run with Ethernet for home business reasons. Wi-Fi is activated, but I've still not understood how I can run the G36 using Ethernet only.I'm using Windows11 Pro.May I ask for help with this? I'm just going too fast.  Thank you 

I have been experiencing intermittent internet outages and WIFI calls dropping.

I have a brand new G36, which I’ve finally managed to get it fully set up and working, and I want to change the password.Going through the web interface, it tells me to change the password in the app ( “WARNING: To keep your account password in sync, it is recommended to update it using the SURFboard® App rather than changing it here.” ). But according to this post you can’t change the password in the app.So how do I change the password in the app?

Where’s the password located on the DOCSIS 3.1

i have a G34 and I’m getting Serial Number and Model don’t match when i try to register it.

There has to be something to do about no knowing or forgetting a domain password right? Can I be manually reset. I really can't remember what it is.

I could not find anything on the Internet to help me with connecting older video devices and/or video call apps. It took me two weeks thinking it had to do with DOCSIS 3.1 and using a new cable modem Arris SURFBoard Model G36. I thought it was MAC Filtering issue since I had no issues with the old cable modem Netgear model C3700 especially with iPad using a random MAC address. I fixed it by using fixed MAC address, which is a security risk that I was willing to take. No problems with Netgear. Then after two weeks, I happened to look at Gateway | Firewall | IPv4 | “Firewall Security Level,” it was set to “Maximum Security High,” I stepped down to “Typical Security Medium” and viola, all my older devices started working. Tech. dept--Advice: Add “Block” to any device(s) not on MAC Filtering List similar to Netgear. It only showed “Allowed,’ “Allow-All” or “Deny” mode which the latter turns on the MAC Filtering to block all devices. This would be a nice feature so that I can see which devices not on the list tried to access our router. I like to name my devices on MAC Filtering list and it requires the name from the device — some device(s) do not have a device name like our Wi-Fi camera.Second, Arris Surfboard cable modem does not show local networks of all channels in my neighborhood so that I could select the best channel. Netgear cable modem does. If Arris Surfboard cable modem does have that feature, where is it.

Like many other users, I’m getting Serial Number and Model don’t match. Does not instill a lot of faith in your company for me.

I was having the same problem with my G36.  It has been very solid with the wi-fi connection from for the first 18 months.  Then 4 or 5 months ago, it started dropping connection frequently (several times an hour).  As I work from home, this was a huge inconvenience -- especially during meetings.Advice I recevied in another thread helped me to eventually minimize the issue. That other thread is closed, but the advise given was similar to above.  It was not the cable signal levels though. The link showed how to use the G36 to scan for every device using the 2.4Ghz bandwidth, and to try a less used channel.  Well, turns out there are 50 or 60 devices (mostly the various neighbors) all on that bandwidth.  I tried a lesser used channel, but that did not solve the issue.What did help minimize the issue was to switch my devices to the lesser used 5GHz channel.   This reduced the dropouts considerably.   However I have some old devices (squeezebox

I recently installed a Surfboard G34 wifi cable modem and it is losing connection multiple times a day. Sometimes it reboots itself and regains connection. Sometimes if I unplug it, it will restart and reconnect but it’s happening multiple times a day. I went through troubleshooting with Xfinity and they couldn’t identify anything remotely. They can send a tech out but they’re not sure if it’s an issue on their side. I’m trying to see if I can troubleshoot the device before having a tech come out. Can anyone help?

I have labeled all the devices and am wanting to look over and delete some.  Only 8 are showing on the list and I have more devices that that connected.  

I just purchased this G36 modem/router today and installed it. Went through all the nonsense on the app and on internet providers site. It worked for maybe 10 minutes and stopped. The app says it is offline, the light is flashing blue and devices are or were still connected to it via WiFi. It’s not connecting to the internet. I’ve restarted it several times and it goes right back to this.what’s the issue?

What will be the address for shipping the model for repair ?

Every few days, the Modem stops the Internet connection, and the only way to reset is to unplug and restart.  This is not due to power failures or any other issue.  It is happening 1-3 times a week and is a real problem  , I am with Xfinity

Arris model G36 purchased last month. Had tough time setting up via Xfinity and had to speak with Arris support who reset it and then back to exfinity to register it again.  Now need to put in Bridge mode but when go to 192.168.0.1, I use the email address I registered under but no idea what password to use.  No matter what I use, cannot get past error for incorrect email.

I set up the modem and it worked well. I connected my TVs to it. But the connection didn’t reach to the far end of the house, so I set up an eero connected to the modem and then I set one up on the other side of my house. Since then, it has not been working, and any time you’re connected to the wifi, you cannot access anything without it popping up with something for Xfinity

Completed the setup, updated the password for the portal login in the process, and after reconnecting the new ssid’s, I am unable to log into the portal. I’ve done this twice. The first time, I figured I forgot the password, so I reset the device and went through the setup process a second time. This time, I’m confident the password is not the issue. 

How to disconnect 5G from modem

I just swapped out on old cable modem for a G36.  Everything seemed to be working the first few days. Then Spectrum internet went out in my area. Called Spectrum, they said everything was now fine on their end. Eventually the 5G network came back, but nothing connects to the 2.4 network. I have some items that can connect to 5G. I really don’t want to go through all the items connected to 2.4 and switch them over to 5G or replace them with items that work on 5G. What do I need to do?

How do I change the password for one of my internets in my g36 arris modem 

I own a DOCSIS 3.1 gateway G34 with 1.04 firmware known for intermittent connectivity issues that are fixed by 1.05 firmware.  This device is on the Approved Device List from Breezeline.  1.05 has been out for 3 years and is stable.  However despite the DOCSIS mandate Breezeline customer service refuses to manually update the firmware saying any new firmware will be automatically pushed and my only solution is to ditch my gateway and rent ISP’s gateway and pay monthly rental fees.The connectivity drops predictably every few days, probably by algorithm to encourage me to rent their equipment.Do you see this behavior at Breezeline or other ISP?  Is there a tool to exam and document the connectivity issues are man-made by Breezeline?Is this a legitimate case to file a complaint with FCC or class action?
