G34 | G36

Hello, I set up my Arris G36 in the iOS app.  I had to supply an email address and I used an address with a plus sign (+) in it.  The app accepted the email with no problem.  However, the app is limited and I would like to log into the web UI to configure things.  Unfortunately, when I try to log in with my email and the password supplied in the app, I get the error: Incorrect parameter values: Email Address I have also supplied a screenshot below.  What are my options to fix this issue?  Can I change the email address in the Surfboard app somehow?  Please help as this is a frustrating bug I have run into.  The app should have caught this if it was going to be a problem. Thanks for any help you can offer,  

We can’t stay connect to our Arris SURFboard Wi-Fi Cable Modem with our phones.  In addition when we do attempt to connect the various phone setting says that the password is wrong.  Reboot the cable modem and then after that we can connect.  Anyone have any ideas?   This is a new installation.  

I recently purchased the Arris Surfboard G36 modem and router. Are there any compable wifi extenders? The wifi connection is not best. I have had connectivity issues and would like to use a wifi extender to hopefully improve my wifi. 

I am unable to turn off Single SSID.  I enabled it at first thinking that it might help with a printer issue, but it didn’t, so I’m trying to turn it off to get the separate 2.4ghz and 5ghz SSIDs back.  I go into the SURFboard Central app on my Android phone, click the My Network tab, then the Network Management box.  I click the plus icon to open up the Main Wi-Fi Network box.  The slider for “Enable Single SSID for 2.4G/5G bands” is to the right and green.  I click on the slider to disable it, a box pops up warning me that it will disable the device band steering capability.  I click OK. A wheel spins on the screen for a second, then nothing.  Everything stays the same. I’ve tried this over and over and Single SSID will not turn off.I have a G34 router.

I have G34 since last July and internet connection stopped working multiple times. There is no issue with Comcast both times since I could use my other gateway and it worked fine. The only way I could get to work was to reset to the factory defaults which is cumbersome. It is under warranty, and I want to get a warranty replacement but unable to find steps to get a replacement. 

I have used 5 different browsers and confirmed that the admin password is correct but continue to get the message “Please Login First!”.  Does anyone know of a fix or work around ?

I recently purchased a G34 modem and it has doors communicating with my isp after just 2 months. I am unable to get Arris support for this modem and it has a 2 year warranty to boot! Obviously the warranty is only as good as toilet paper, as it has dissolved very quickly along with any customer support! Thanks Arris for making this decision for me to NEVER purchase another one of your products again, and trust me, when you lose a customer they tell 10 people, when you do right by a customer they tell 1 person, statistical fact. You can probably guess which direction I am taking! Good riddance! 

Will the G36 allow the 2.5GB port to be connected to a PC and one of the four 1.0GB ports connected to a mesh system, switch, etc.?   On older Arris modems such as the S33 you cannot use the 2.5GB port and the 1.0GB port simultaneously.  Is the G36 different since it has 4 1.0GB ports. 

When my Roku TV is connected to WiFi I can screen mirrior my iPhone. If I connect it via LAN (preferred) it does not work. Had the same problem with POE devices in the house. They would not connect without rebooting which forced me to go on wifi. Tried to play with some firewall settings but unsure what could be causing this. Xfinity Gig internet. Thanks for the help.

Ever since I installed my Arris G36, my telnet connection drops after about 10 minutes. Is there any setting I should change to prevent this?Thanks.

I can connect 192.168.1.0 on my browser and it works good. But not able to connect to Surfboard Central APP on Android, Please guide  I cannot use the APP at all now. 

I bought a new G34 6 months ago and it dies today. My cable provider confirmed it could not see the modem remotely, additionally resetting and power cycling always resulted in a steady light blue light.  So i purchased a new modem and it works great. How do I get a refund ? Thanks

I just got an Arris SURFboard G34. I have a Google Chromecast and a desktop computer connected to the G34 using Ethernet. Both can access the Internet. However, if I use Chrome to Cast, it says "No devices found". I tried turning off the G34's firewall. Device Discovery is enabled. I also tried enabling Zero Config. If I plug my old ASUS RT-AC55U router into the G34, and plug the computer and Chromecast into the ASUS, then Cast finds the Chromecast and casting works.

Hi, I have got new Arris G34 and I am seeing sort of glitches in Internet. Be it wifi 5Ghz/LAN/Ethernet.I can provide any more information if needed. Please help/guide. 

I have been having an issue that i need assistance with. I purchased and setup a Arris G34 modem as few weeks ago. I have been some weird issues. My ISP is Comcast. The weird issue is every few (random) days. I end was with slow activity in WIFi and even ethernet internet. In random cases even the ethernet doesnt work but the WIFI always seems to albeit slow when it happens. Comcast is reporting the modem is offline. I can even access the Surboard app and connect to the modem, most of the time. I can reboot the Gateway from that and everything again works fine and not slow...for a few days until it happens again. I can also manually unplug and reboot when the slowness/disconnect happens and again...it works fine few a few days until it happens again.Why would this be happening and how can i resolve this so its more consistenly up without this issue?Any information on this would be greatly appreciated.Please let me know.

I try to contact customer service but I am not getting any help from them and the device is still under warranty. Multiple times I have to reboot the modem then the Wi-Fi single comes back and I am tier to robot every time 

new g34 modem/router After setup with comcast wifi connected ipad can talk to the internet, but hard wired computer is not allowed to talk to any http sites but can talk to most https sites (but not all). any suggestions at all?

What is the latest firmware for the Surfboard G36I read the documentation, and it said my provider would have software updates, but Xfinity customer service said that they would come from Arris.If I have the latest software already - then the question is moot, otherwise - how do I ensure that I have the latest security fixes, etc

I want to change the account admin password but via the portal it says to use the app. Go into the surfboard central app and there is no option. Is there an option in the app? Is the surfboard central the correct app? The warning is it won’t sync to the app. Does it matter where you change the password at this point if there is no option in the app to change it? 

Hi all,I have a G34 modem router and my ISP is Comcast. (Xfinity)My plan details:Download speeds: up to 400 MbpsUpload speeds: up to 10 MbpsI can get up 350 Mbps on 5Ghz my 2.4Ghz is terrible I get around 70 Mpbs.Is anyone aware of any setting tweak that can help me improve my 2.4Ghz? 

I am having problem with my voip that drops calls after a few minutes of conversation.  My service provider, magicJack, asked me to open my 5060 and 5070 on my G36 to improve the quality of the voip service.  Can anybody tell me if I can do it myself with the modem admin tool or does it have to be Comcast that can open these ports for me?   I own my modem.

Could someone please tell me what the current firmware version is for the Surfboard G36? Mine is running 01.04.028.01.01.NCS, and I think it may be outdated.For example, whenever I connect to its Web Manager, it displays the message, “The version of Mozilla Firefox you are using is unsupported. Your Gateway's web interface has been tested to work with the minimum version: 63.0.3.” I am using the current version of Firefox, 109.0.1, and though I’m not much of a math whiz, I do believe that 109 is greater than 63.Also, please, I understand that my service provider is responsible for performing the firmware update procedure and that I cannot procure the firmware and update it myself. I just want to know if my G36 is running the latest version.Thanks much.

Hi, I’ve tried calling the Arris support as well as using their Live Chat option, but neither appear to be working right now. Any help is greatly appreciated!! Starting yesterday we have internet connectivity issues with all our personal devices in the house--laptop, phones, etc. If I reboot the G34 it works for maybe a few minutes, then the connection gets bad, and eventually the SSIDs disappear from the Wifi options on all devices. I’ve done two factory resets, but can’t get passed the “Connect to new home network” on the app restart. When I call our provider, Cox, they say it is activated and working from their end. The solid blue light on the G34 is on at all times (except, of course, when I am doing a reboot or a reset). We also tried connecting via ethernet cable without luck. Please advise if you are able. Does the customer service number and/or live chat normally work? Best,
