**** Excuse the SN8200 in the title ***** Moderator can you fix please? **** I had a T25 VOIP modem but dropped VOIP and the T25 was only functioning at maybe 75% of an advertized connection of 500 generally much less maybe 275 or less. This SB8200 doesn’t seem to perform much better or maybe worse from time to time. These are images from a 3 hour fresh Comcast/Xfinity connection and I have used the ‘reset’ depress on it. Channels 33 and 34 interest me. The channels that aren’t in the image are similar to what’s in those that can be seen. What about the errors on boot that I see? Channel 33 on a fresh boot was 3.7dBmV 40.5dB 123553490 519 The table below contains the log of events that the SB8200 has detected. I’ve had this S33v2 device in place with eero 6+ mesh devices and Xfinity ISP since Aug of 2023…it worked well until 2 days ago. The WiFi dropped, I assumed it to be a temporary Xfinity outage. After several hours I checked the modem and it had a solid while (greenish) light, normally its blue. The device was making a high pitched buzzing noise that I hadn’t previously heard. I disconnected both the power and coax, waited and reconnected…the light immediately turned solid white upon connecting power. I attempted to reset the device via the recessed reset button on the bottom of the device. I followed the instructions in the user manual holding the reset button for over 7 seconds, the light never changed from solid white. I’ve attempted several more times, holding the reset for up to a full minute, same result, the light never changes from solid white. Disconnecting the coax and connecting only power, the light goes immediately solid white. To rule out faulty coax, Ii swapped the cable

Arris surfboard sb8200 connected with service provider and double checked - registered modem and still no internet

I am attempting to follow the prompts in the app to set up my modem. However the led lights do not turn on as expected. What do I do?

I tried adding another s33 modem for garage using bridge mode. Didn't appear to work so I disabled bridge and now I can't connect back to my network. Spoke to isp and said all is good on their end. Please help!

My S33 is rebooting constantly, overheating to the point where I had to put a fan underneath it and it's no longer helping. How and where do I get the warranty process stated. My Modem is under warranty till 2025.

Hello, I purchased my Arris Surboard S33v2 from the ARRIS Amazon store on Jun 20, 2023, and I noticed it has been making a constant sounds lately when it was silent a month ago. I think I am also noticing buffering in videos when I was not before. What can I do while I’m still within the 2 year warranty?​

Is it possible to load my VPN to my Arris Modem and route it through a VPN router to cover all devices in my house? If so, are there instructions somewhere to load the VPN to the modem? Are there any special things I need to do in order for this to work? Let me know. Thanks Jim

Can I change the password on my Arris f845 modem router without the use of the internet?

Not liking the changes some of my devices didn’t come through doesn’t show whether it’s 5G or 2.4 very dissatisfied. Can I change back I tried.

Your modems, and pretty much every other modem on the planet are designed with no fans. As a result when you get above a very moderate speed of 20MB per second your modems start to overheat and then crash once they reach around 100 degrees. Extremely preventable problems if you would just install a fan, but for some odd reason no manufacturer does. And as a result every single modem from every company has this issue. Just install a fan, and it will fix it.

In the app I get the modem to connect to my internet and then when I try to sign into the app to use it it tells me it lost the connection try again. Many try’s help!

Well after talking to Cox on the phone and in the store, they can’t activate my new S34 modem. This company really needs to stop advertising that it is compatible, because in Las Vegas, it is not. I hope Amazon will take it back, if not I wasted 200 bucks for nothing.

I am aware that there are other firmware related posts but am lost about what to do next. We are Comcast Business internet customers and decided to get our own SB8200v3 modem and WiFi router as the Comcast modem / router combinations didn’t offer the features we needed. The modem however crashes every few weeks, what is a problem when I am not in the office as people struggle to trouble shoot and reboot the modem. I spoke today twice with the Comcast support, both associates claimed that they have no access to my modem, what I however believe is not true. Can somebody direct me to how I can get the firmware checked and updated if possible? I currently have the firmware version ( edited personal information )

I was able to locate how to update my Password, however I would also like to change the user name to something other than simply “admin”. Where is there a link to accomplish a user name update?

My wifi went down, I think its my 6 year old router. I bought a new wifi 7 router but it hasn’t arrived yet. I did the factory reset on my SB8200 modem, and I’m trying to reset my wifi name and password. I’ve never reset the password before (ya, I know you are supposed to for security- I had a friend setup the modem when it was new about 2 years ago). I’m connected to my modem with an ethernet cable, and when I type in 192.168.0.1, I get into an arris page, but it does not have the “system basic set-up” like the youtube help videos show. Here’s what I see: I have an old Dell XPS computer from 2015 with windows 10. How can I access the basic setup page to change my wifi password? Thanks!

In most cases, the modem’s Status page can be accessed by browsing to the modem’s address 192.168.100.1 from a client connected to the Wi-Fi router or connected to the cable modem. If you’re unable to get to the modem’s login screen, the workaround is to manually assign IP addresses in the device (Wi-Fi router or PC) that is directly connected to the modem. NOTE: The workaround requires knowledge of assigning IP addresses to the PC or Wi-Fi router. Refer to the user manual for instructions. Wi-Fi Client Only If you only have a Wi-Fi client, the only workaround is to change the Wi-Fi router’s WAN IP address. Log in to your Wi-Fi router’s settings page and navigate to the WAN or Internet settings. Set the WAN IP address to Static and enter the following network addresses. Will I notice a significant /noticable speed change from a 5-year sb6190 to s33?

Won't connect to router. Will connect to computer but only one. As soon as you move the cable to a different computer the internet is down.

I am using an SB6183. Xfinity said I could use it, so I bought it to save some money. Xfinity app recognizes that I’m using it, and services are activated. I can get online via the ethernet cable, but cannot connect wirelessly. When I tried to activate the surfboard via the app, it was not listed. Rather, a link to an older app was suggested for me to download. This app is not available on my phone because the app is too outdated. Why can’t I activate it via a website browser? frustrated. Just want to connect my phone and xbox to my home internet.

My sb8200 has no connection (is offline) after a short power outage last night. I have a separate router and it says that the network cable is unplugged and it is not. I have restarted and manually restarted both the modem and the router, even leaving both unplugged completely overnight. I contacted xfinity and they cannot figure it out either. Does this mean I need a new Ethernet cable? I have also read that maybe I have to factory reset the modem but I am not sure what to do. We have only had this modem router combo for under a year I can’t imagine it is already toast.

I have about a 5 year old SB6190. Downstream light is bright blue, but my upstream light is either white or out. I contacted my provider and everything shows fine on their end….download of 500 MBPS and upload of 25 MBPS. Is it possible my upload LED has burnt out. I rebooted it and the green LED is flashing as it powers back up, but the download light goes to Blue and the Upload light appears white when it is back on line. Is my modem going?

Mediacom is my ISP and they are doing an upgrade to their system that will disable all DOCSIS 3.0 modems. They now only list 2 modems as compatible with their service - Netgear CM2500 and CM3000. They seem to be promoting mid/high split technology. I would like to buy a Surfboard SB8200. My questions are: Will the SB8200 work with Mediacom? Does Arris sell any modems that are mid/high split capable?

Four plus hours today and two yesterday trying to register my Arris SB8200V3 cable modem with Optimum. Optimum tech says it’s the modem. Arris tech says it’s the ISP. After trying two new Arris modems with Optimum I’ve had enough. Bought a Netgear and will see if that works. Pretty soured with Arris. Maybe something simple but if it doesn’t work is doesn’t work. ☹️
