S33 | S34

I came home from being out for a couple of days and my Arris S33 modem appeared in an error state. No internet connection on any of my devices. The front LED turns a solid amber for 20 seconds, then flashes white, then turns off for 2 seconds before repeating that cycle. Tried hard resets and checking cables; also tried troubleshooting with Cox, but the modem just remains in whatever state it’s in. Modem is not responding to input from the reset button, either.  I’m not sure what to do as I haven’t seen any posts with a similar issue to this. I received the modem as a hand-me-down and have only had it plugged in for less than a month (and it’s worked fine until now). 

First Ethernet cable worked to hardwire a desktop- internet was fast and reliable. Then connected wireless router to second Ethernet port- Wi-Fi internet is now good, but the desktop that was hardwired does not have an internet connection. 

I recently upgrade my xifnity plan to 2Gig with the Xfi router, it was 1900mbps for downloading and 45mbps for uploading. I replaced the Xfi Gateway with the newest S33V2 surfboard and the speed drops to only 700mbps with direct internet connection and 5mbps for uploading. I have a tech from xfinity do the test, the Xfi Gateway can run full of 2000mbps but the S33V2 cannot. The tech suggested me to contact the Arris customer suport for a solution. He thought there might be a issue with the Arris cable modem since the speed is only 700mbps.Best

I cannot log into my S33 for the first time.Using admin for the user name and password for the password.Even tried using the last eight digits of the serial number.Thanks in advance.  

I just purchased this modem yesterday. What is the maximum number of characters when changing the default password for the Arris Web Manager website to something unique? I successfully changed this to a 16 character password (documented in Last Pass) and the website confirmed my new password as having been applied. When I now try to login with my new password, I can only enter the first 15 characters in the field and thus cannot login. What gives? If the 16th character was silently ignored during new password creation, then the first 15 characters should suffice but it’s a no go with just the first 15.

I have Xfinity Internet with mobile.S33 Modem with Asus ZenWiFi AX6600 mesh routers (3 ea).I think around the time I installed this setup from the Xfinity modem/router setup, I lost the ability to send and receive text messages with pictures via SMS. Don’t know how to find that ability to correct that.Any suggestions would be appreciated. 

Was working for a few weeks, then started to have trouble connecting and makes a high pitch swuealing noise before connecting. Yesterday it took about 30 minutes to connect after power outage. Today we rearranged and unplugged it for a while. Now it wont connect at all. The light is solid amber except every 8 seconds it turns green for one second then back to amber. The whine is constant.

Hi everyone,I have a brand new Arris S33 on Cox Hampton Roads VA Beyond Fast internet Tier 2g down/100mbps up speed package. It is connected to also a brand new Orbi Mesh RBR60 with one additional satellite. Wan cable between the modem/router is connected to the Arris 2.5gb port of course. My speeds tests average around 2300gbps down and 100up consistently 98% percent of the time and all my devices throughout the house apple TV’s, cams, etc work great no buffering. The coax running to the house( RG-11) by Cox are relatively new from the pedestal to the demark and from there to the modem(New RG 6)and great signal readings have been verified by both senior Cox field techs and their supervisors and maintenance and headend techs have indicated everything looks perfect ayt every connection point(I used to work for Cox in tech support and still have some contacts fortunately in field services:) It is also a straight coax run all the way from the street, no splitters, amps etc as we

My Arris S33v2 stopped working and has a white light in the front. What does a white light indicate? Seen meaning for other colored lights but not white

I am looking to find out what the latest release and version is for my S33.   I would like to know if the one I purchased is up to date.   I understand because I own it I cant update it from you nor will my ISP.  And dont tell me they auto update it, because they dont.That isn’t the question.   I  want to know it for my knowledge, and if you wont tell me, why wont you?So, when we think it might be too old we can replace it.

Modem not maintaining connection and overheating as well warranty is still in effect.

Hello, I have an S33 modem with Spectrum internet. The spectrum tech installed the modem and it has been hooked up to a wireless router and working fine with all wi-fi connections. After the install I connected the modem directly to a network switch and the wireless router still works fine. However I have connected an NVR home security system to the switch that requires direct ethernet and it wont connect. I called the security camera support and they are telling me that the direct line is IPV6 and it needs to be IPV4 to work. I am also experiencing no internet connection my wired Samsung smart tvs. Is there an easy fix?

Years ago, when I set up my S33, I turned the LED off. Now I want it back on. I was mistaken that a hard reset would do that. I'm kind of surprised that it didn't.I downloaded and installed the web manager. No joy there because the app can't find the modem (?!?).So... What's the trick?

I'm an Xfinity internet customer experiencing an issue with my modem's upload speed. While my download speeds are good (around 450 Mbps), the upload speed is erratic, ranging from 0.1 to 1 Gbps within a short time frame.A technician visited my house and checked the coax connections and modem performance. Although they didn't find any obvious issues, they suspected a possible hardware failure within the modem. They temporarily installed a different cable modem, and the upload speed stabilized significantly.The modem I'm currently using is an Arris model purchased in February 2021. Given the technician's suspicion and the temporary fix, I'm considering replacing the modem. However, I'm unsure if this is a common issue with Arris modems or if 3 years is the typical lifespan for such devices.I'd appreciate any advice on whether to replace the modem and what brand/model to consider

Can i use S 33 modem with a 300 mps internet plan now. Possible upgrade to 1 gb plan in future..   

Hello - I recently purchased an S33 and have it configured as follows: Spectrum -- S33 -- SFP+ -- Unifi Dream Machine Pro WAN port The SFP+ is a 1-2.5-5-10G model from Ubiqiti. This configuration works just fine when I plug into the 1G port of the S33.  However, when I plug it into the 2.5G port, I get….nothing...no LEDs light up on the Unifi port at all.  The LEDs on the back of the S22 are solid green and amber.  I have tried multiple cables (currently using 0.5m of class 6E), rebooting both the modem and the router, etc., but nothing seems to work.   One other thing that might be relevant is that when it was originally provisioned it was done on the 1G port.  I called Spectrum, and they said that provisioning one port or the other wasn’t something that they did anyway. So, the question is:  how do I “enable” the 2.5G port? Thanks for your help!!

I posted in here a few months ago about some trouble I was having with my S33. Xfinity ended up coming out and replacing the line from the box to my house and everything has been great until a couple days ago.The random reboots are back. I spent about 3 hours on the phone/chat with Xfinity and they are telling me nothing is wrong on their end and that I needed to contact Arris. I have no splitters or anything else in the way. The Xfinity guy ran the new cable into the basement. We put a brand new coupling on the end, and a brand new cable running to the modem. That is the only coax I use in the entire house. The line from the street goes directly to the modem.I am not sure what is causing these new random reboots, but I suspect I just have a bad modem and need to get a replacement. Its pretty easy to find S33 random reboot topics on the internet, but not a whole lot of fixes.Hopefully someone on here can steer me in the right direction.Thanks

I have been getting 80-120 Mbps on a 1200 Mbps Xfinity service. Yesterday I was told my old Arris is no longer supported, so I replaced with a new Arris S33. My home is 2 stories and ~3500 square feet. My modem and router are upstairs in a bedroom centrally located. I have a Deco M5 Mesh network with 3 stations - one in the bedroom upstairs near the router and two downstairs to reach the rest of the house. With the replaced router, I get 350Mbps in the bedroom and directly below it when testing speed on my iPhone 15 and brand new HP laptop.  I am unable to get my laptop to recognize the Ethernet network when I plug directly into the Arris modem, but it works fine when I plug into the connected Deco router. When I move into the bonus room over the garage, the speed drops by 65% to around 120Mbps. SERVICE PROVIDER = COX, 2GB SUPER FAST SERVICECABLE MODEM = ARRIS S33, connecting to the router using the 2.5 Gbps portROUTER = NIGHTHAWK XR700 In order to get the use out of 2.5Gbps service from COX, I have to use the 10 Gbps SPF+ port on my router, else I will still be bottlenecked by the 1Gbps port. I purchased an SPF + transceiver (2 different ones) that both say they are compatible with my Nighthawk/Netgear. When I try to connect this together, I keep getting an error indicating that I cannot get connected to my ISP aka Cox. Put the cable back into the 1Gbps port on the Nighthawk and all is well.  So I have a few hypothesis:Arris S33 will not work with an SPF+ transceiver Cox will not work with an SPF+ transceiver Both transceivers are defective though I do get clear link light activity from both the Arris and the Nighthawk using the

S33 v2The modem has been activated and is connected.However, I am unable to login using the default user and password.What is my next step?

I am wondering if it does support the eero 6+ mesh wifi set because I have not been able to find any answers online.

Logging into 192.168.100.1 does not give me an option to configure the DNS.

My Xfinity plan allows up to 100 Mbps upload. I can only achieve 23Mbps. Xfinity says nothing is wrong on their end. I told them my upload signal level is 43dBmV and that falls too low. I have asked them to increase, but I get a run around. They want me to lease one if their modem. I am not doing it. Is there a special number at Xfinity one can call to speak to people who understand me?

How do I reset my wifi password ?

I previously posted on here because I had issues with my sbg8300 as I was getting under 1% packet loss and latency issues.  I assumed maybe it was the modem since it has a puma chipset and I read about those having issues with packet processing.  Recently got a S33 and it was working great for 2 weeks, then I noticed 1% packet loss in games again, and I ran some tests and realized it was the exact same issue as before. I went to my modem admin page and checked out the power levels and such and noticed that the Upstream does not fall within the range Arris said is acceptable (45-51 dBmv I believe) (my previous SBG8300 also was not in the range).  This makes me think since I got a new modem, maybe xfinity is not delivering the proper power levels.  I was thinking maybe a reverse attenuator could increase it, but I am not sure if I need it or if this is an issue.  Main question: Does the power level falling a few dBmv below the acceptable range cause high l
