S33 | S34

Hi I’m trying to connect to the wifi but it keeps telling me to make sure I’m on the home wifi network when my internet is plugged into the arris modem 

Purchased modem in July of 2023.Modem would stop working about once every other month, and i would unplug for a couple of minutes, plug back in and it would work fine. Did it again on Monday and now i only get solid white light. Will not reset. Please advise.

My S33 is still under warranty, and Arris has already provided me with a shipping label to replace the device due to an issue. However, I'm concerned about whether the replacement will be new or refurbished. I'm a bit wary of receiving a refurbished device because it could potentially have modified firmware or undisclosed issues that Arris hasn't detected. It would be frustrating to receive a replacement only for it to break down after a year or so.

I was considering the S33 for my GB Xfinity connection.While checking out the S33 on the Arris website I noticed the S34. It looks like it might be based on the S33 but firmware optimized for faster uploads. The description page states “ Next Generation Upload Speed Optimized” where the description page for the S33 does not.If I click “Buy Online Now” on the S34 page I get redirected to a page suggesting I add an S33 to my cart.Is the S34 an available product? If not, when will it be available?Thx in advance.

I just installed and set up an Arris Surfboard S33. We are running Windows 10 on our PCs. When I go to the Surfboard Management console at 192.168.100.1 and enter “admin” and “password:” as instructed by the user manual, I get an error message that the username and password are not correct. This happens with all browsers. Can anyone provide any guidance, assistance or correct instructions? Thank you.

S33 & Xfinity gigabyte plan Past few days  I have been experiencing frequent outages. Usually a reboot of the modem and routers resolves it but the past few times the speeds are not coming back to what they should be. I took a look out the downstream channels and saw a lot of corrections and uncorrectable(s). This screen shot was taken with a modem uptime of about 20 minutes.   Spoke with Xfinity rep and basically said everything is good on their end and to contact manufacturer.  If anyone could provide any suggestions I am all ears. 

Like most I’m on Xfinity with my own S33 modem. I updated my service to an 800Mbps/100Mbps plan and haven’t been able to get anywhere higher than 11.8Mbps uploads on the Xfinity speedtest site. A tech came out and ran a new line today and we removed a splitter that was no longer needed and he said the signal levels were much improved. The only thing I’ve seen improve so far is the number of correctable and uncorrectable errors on channel 1 have gone away with the new line. Otherwise, the power levels on the upstream connection actually seem to have dropped (maybe that’s ok) from 47.5 dBmV to 43.0 dBmV. I’m still not getting any higher than the 11.8Mbps even though I’d expect to at least hit 20Mbps if they still haven’t opened up support to 100Mbps to the S33.Here are the levels from the modem status page after the new line was installed (and splitter removed). I bought a new, factory sealed S33v2 but Xfinity (Comcast) was unable to provision it as the MAC address was already in use. How can that be?

Nov 2023 installed ARIS S-33 modem. Data usage went from an average of 350Gb/month to 1323Gb/month for Nov & Dec 2023 and Jan 2024.No changes in data intensive activity, no gamers. Only change is went to Hulu Streaming TV and dropped Xfinity Cable TV.Any ideas why this would happen?

What version do I have? The info page shows "NA". How do I perform an update? 

So I had a S33 for a few months, then it stopped working. Arris sent a replacement. The new one won’t connect at all. I worked with Xfinity for over an hour trying to get it connected and they told me there was a Docsis error on the modem. So I’m using a rented Xfinity modem now and it works perfectly.I called Arris about just sending theirs back for a refund but I was told that was impossible since it was a replacement. They want to go through troubleshooting before they’ll even offer any recourse.I am done with Arris I think. After going through two bad modems I just want a refund. Will they offer a refund if I go through troubleshooting with them and it still doesn’t work or will they just send an endless stream of replacements until my warranty runs out?

Tried to activate an Arris S 33 with Xfinity, Xfinity said that my old 6190 modem is too slow for my internet speed, and I needed to upgrade.  My modem won’t activate, I have tried many times using the app, the light flashes green, and after 11 minutes the app says it couldn’t find the modem.  I hooked up a computer to the modem and on the status page is says security failed, and Docsis network access enabled, Status Denied.  Today, Xfinity came out to check my lines, I had a weak signal, they replaced lines and connectors and when the tech was done, I had a great connection.  He tried many times to activate the modem and couldn’t.  He finally called his tech people.  The tech lady tried to activate the modem on her side and said that it showed active, but wasn’t connected.  She said that she couldn’t see an IP address for this modem, and because of that, couldn’t activate the modem.  She told me to contact Arris and see if anyone has had this problem and how to fix this problem.  T

I posted on here a while back about my S33v2 randomly rebooting several times a day. I have been chatting with some Xfinity agents on Reddit and they lead me to an interesting discovery. While the S33 is on the list of recommended devices, the S33v2 is merely listed as compatible and not recommended. According to the internet, the v2 was released in mid-2021. Despite a different chipset and firmware, there is little difference between the two. Why has Xfinity not certified the v2 version in the last 2.5 years when it is clearly the newer product and probably the only one you can actually buy for the last 2.5 years?My issue is clearly something to do with this modem as I had been using Xfinity’s XB8-T modem for the last month and had zero issues.Is there anything I can do about this except just keep using the XB8-T and

Hi , I just returned my Xfinity Arris modem and got a SurfBoard S33. I have LinkSys mesh routers in both the cases that work OKI have noticed early morning the Wifi connection does not work and Internet starts to works about 5 mins after connecting.  Can you pls suggest an fix for this ? Is there any upgrade that needs to be done as I bought this SurfBoard from Amazon ?? Thanks in advance  

I purchased the “Arris Surfboard S33” router today to replace my old Lynksys router.  I have upgraded my internet speed to 1GB.  I got the S33 activated by Xfinity and followed the procedure for registering the product as the instructions listed.  After verifying that the modem was converting the cable signal to an internet signal, I attempted to connect my EA8500 router...1st on the 2.5G port then the 1G port.  In either situation the light on the EA8500 continues to flash and no “new” network is seen.  Any helpful suggestions are appreciated as to how to troubleshoot this problem.  Thank you

I came home from being out for a couple of days and my Arris S33 modem appeared in an error state. No internet connection on any of my devices. The front LED turns a solid amber for 20 seconds, then flashes white, then turns off for 2 seconds before repeating that cycle. Tried hard resets and checking cables; also tried troubleshooting with Cox, but the modem just remains in whatever state it’s in. Modem is not responding to input from the reset button, either.  I’m not sure what to do as I haven’t seen any posts with a similar issue to this. I received the modem as a hand-me-down and have only had it plugged in for less than a month (and it’s worked fine until now). 

First Ethernet cable worked to hardwire a desktop- internet was fast and reliable. Then connected wireless router to second Ethernet port- Wi-Fi internet is now good, but the desktop that was hardwired does not have an internet connection. 

I recently upgrade my xifnity plan to 2Gig with the Xfi router, it was 1900mbps for downloading and 45mbps for uploading. I replaced the Xfi Gateway with the newest S33V2 surfboard and the speed drops to only 700mbps with direct internet connection and 5mbps for uploading. I have a tech from xfinity do the test, the Xfi Gateway can run full of 2000mbps but the S33V2 cannot. The tech suggested me to contact the Arris customer suport for a solution. He thought there might be a issue with the Arris cable modem since the speed is only 700mbps.Best

I cannot log into my S33 for the first time.Using admin for the user name and password for the password.Even tried using the last eight digits of the serial number.Thanks in advance.  

I just purchased this modem yesterday. What is the maximum number of characters when changing the default password for the Arris Web Manager website to something unique? I successfully changed this to a 16 character password (documented in Last Pass) and the website confirmed my new password as having been applied. When I now try to login with my new password, I can only enter the first 15 characters in the field and thus cannot login. What gives? If the 16th character was silently ignored during new password creation, then the first 15 characters should suffice but it’s a no go with just the first 15.

I have Xfinity Internet with mobile.S33 Modem with Asus ZenWiFi AX6600 mesh routers (3 ea).I think around the time I installed this setup from the Xfinity modem/router setup, I lost the ability to send and receive text messages with pictures via SMS. Don’t know how to find that ability to correct that.Any suggestions would be appreciated. 

Was working for a few weeks, then started to have trouble connecting and makes a high pitch swuealing noise before connecting. Yesterday it took about 30 minutes to connect after power outage. Today we rearranged and unplugged it for a while. Now it wont connect at all. The light is solid amber except every 8 seconds it turns green for one second then back to amber. The whine is constant.

Hi everyone,I have a brand new Arris S33 on Cox Hampton Roads VA Beyond Fast internet Tier 2g down/100mbps up speed package. It is connected to also a brand new Orbi Mesh RBR60 with one additional satellite. Wan cable between the modem/router is connected to the Arris 2.5gb port of course. My speeds tests average around 2300gbps down and 100up consistently 98% percent of the time and all my devices throughout the house apple TV’s, cams, etc work great no buffering. The coax running to the house( RG-11) by Cox are relatively new from the pedestal to the demark and from there to the modem(New RG 6)and great signal readings have been verified by both senior Cox field techs and their supervisors and maintenance and headend techs have indicated everything looks perfect ayt every connection point(I used to work for Cox in tech support and still have some contacts fortunately in field services:) It is also a straight coax run all the way from the street, no splitters, amps etc as we

My Arris S33v2 stopped working and has a white light in the front. What does a white light indicate? Seen meaning for other colored lights but not white

I am looking to find out what the latest release and version is for my S33.   I would like to know if the one I purchased is up to date.   I understand because I own it I cant update it from you nor will my ISP.  And dont tell me they auto update it, because they dont.That isn’t the question.   I  want to know it for my knowledge, and if you wont tell me, why wont you?So, when we think it might be too old we can replace it.
