G54

Whenever I try and add a Manual Static IP for a device that is NOT a NAS, (An HP Multifunction in this case), I always get the error message “Invalid Input!”And when I try to add my iMac, I don’t get an error message, but it also does not subsequently show up in my Static IP list.Is this feature bugged?

Does the G54's 5GHz band have 160MHz channel width?Or is it limited to 80MHz?

I installed my g54 modem, activated it with Xfinity. It is showing online with Xfinity but when I connect to the g54 it tells me no Internet available. I can not connect with the surfboard app or by typing in 192.168.0.1, have reset the modem but still says no Internet.

I just bought a g54 arris modem and there are no lights on the front panel only the power light, Xfinity can not activate my modem.

Help,Im a Cox Cable user, going from the panoramic V8 (best modem they offer) to the now G54.I would like a solution or other options about the way the Ethernet ports work in the back.,First question: I left the cox modem because when in bridge mode only one port works. Im hoping thats not the case with the G54?2nd question: if in fact, this is the same situation… What do i do now to get my current Google Pro 6e wifi mesh system at speeds faster than just 100-200 MGPS?? I run my fast ethernet port to my 2.5 multiswitch to direct connect 2 laptops and 2 xbox systems. All of which will hit 2-2.3Gigs of speed. Problem now is i have no ports left over from Modem. i even tried using a port from the switch. Neither was a success. I am looking to purchase the G54. The location will be on the main floor of my house, but my office is on the 2nd floor. Is there an extender I can connect to the G54, so I can access an ethernet connection in my office?

Does the G54 have a the Quality of Service (QoS) feature to manage and prioritize bandwidth priority?If not, any good reason why QoS is excluded?

G54 shows to have firmware AC01.01.015_051923_G5X.04.20.121  trying to get Xfinity to update on their end but they blame Arris saying the file should be here somewhere. This one is on their “enhanced network speeds” list so it should work but I believe the firmware is the holdback. Any thoughts or help would be appreciated.

I’m suddenly having photos on my remote drive showing up as corrupted with distortion and lines running through them. These images are transferred between my MacBook Pro and the Synology Raid via WiFi. The image can look fine on my computer but as soon as it’s transferred to the drive, it is corrupted. Or an image on the drive can look fine but then when I reopen it a few minutes later, it is corrupted. I suspect the G54 is causing this. How can I test for it and fix it?

WiFi signal is not being seen by my laptop, my laptop does see all the neighbors WiFi signals in my area. I have ten other devices on line with no issues, cell phones, smart TV's, iPads, all work fine on the WiFi, never seen this before, did reinstall on the NIC, updates on the PC, and NIC, ideas, help, greatly appreciate it. BTW, hard line CAT 6 works great. 

Does this modem and router combo have a WPS button?

Is there a way to create different wifi names for the different bandwidths? my older device (Surface Pro 3) can’t seem to connect to the wifi network at all

For the past few weeks my internet has gone out almost every day.  Resetting the modem seems to fix it, at least temporarily.  I’ve talked to Xfiniity several times and they say I should replace the modem, yet several nearby neighbors have had the same issue and it’s unlikely that all of our modems would malfunction at the same time.Unfortunately I don’t have much expertise with modem/internet setup and I have no idea how to troubleshoot it.  Any advice?

Super excited my G54 will be here in a few days and had a setup question. I will be splitting my network into multiple SSDIs for some devices that will only connect to a 2.4Ghz SSID. but my question is all my other devices will connect to the 5Ghz high band. Is it possible to only broadcast the 2.4Ghz band and the 5Ghz high band. Either hide the 6ghz and 5Ghz low band or disable those two bands? 

We recently switched to the g54 modem/router. It advertises that the signal will reach 5,000 sq ft, which is why we bought it. We were hoping to avoid a mesh system again.  our house is just under 5,000 sq ft and the modem/router is located around the middle of the house on the main level (our home is 3 levels with the basement). We are having difficulty getting good signals at the corners of the house.  what is our best option for extending signal into the corners?  Do we have to do another mesh system?  Would this mean that we would have to use the bridge mode?  Or is there a way to extend the signal without completely bypassing the g54’s router?   We are not terribly tech savvy so any guidance and product suggestions would be appreciated. 

Does anyone know if the arris G54 is compatible with Atlantic Broadband (now Breezeline in New Hampshire)

I am having the same problem with the G54 Modem/router and Xfinity.  The modem is active, and I am able to use devices and stream while connected to it, but on Xfinity’s end, it appears offline. I also can’t complete the instillation process in the Surfboard app and without these two steps I can’t test speed and know if my large investment is really worth it.

I am not sure what I am doing wrong, but I get my normal download speeds when the bridge mode is disabled which is around 900, but when I enable the bridge mode option, my download speed is 200 or less. The upload speed seems to be the same. Any thoughts or do I need to return this modem?

I am looking to use the bridge mode on G54 in order to connect to a tp-link Omada device to balance load with the tplink device. the Omada device does not receive any data from the G54 after enabling bridge mode in the arris g54. am i missing something on the surfboard side?  

My G54 arrived today and I’ve replaced the rented comcast device. The G54 has a greater reach but still not as far as I need it to be. I’d like to extend the wifi signal and wondering the best way to do this. My tech knowledge is minimal and I don’t understand the difference between extender, bridge and mesh. Which product would you recommend. Also wondering if any of these will match the wifi 7 signal and if not, will they be upgradable via firmware or is there new hardware soon to be released. Thank you.

Installed Surfboard Central app on my android device, powered up BE18000 (G54), and activated the gateway via COX tech support.  G54 shows solid blue LED and provides ethernet connection. However, the QR Code rejected when requested during wi-fi setup via the app.  The reject message was something along the lines of QR Code not a readable format.  I’ve attempted a manual network setup on my android device but it didn’t work either.  The product label on the bottom of the unit shows SSID as G54-9DB1 but my android device only shows one G54-ABCD during network scans.  The default password on the G54’s label does not work with either G54-9DB1 (label SSID) or with G54-ABCD (network scan).  Suggestive solutions via similar threads have not remedied the QR Code scan reject.  As a result, I cannot complete the G54 wi-fi setup.UPDATE:  I’ve uninstalled and reinstalled the Surfboard Central app three times and still can’t connect to wi-fi with QR Code scan or setup manually options in
