Wi-Fi Modems

I live in a place with many WiFi access points around me.  In order to get good connectivity, I set my 5G radio control to manual and select a free channel.  It works well and i get good throughput.  The problem is that even though the control is set to manual mode, every morning when i start working, I find that the radio has switch itself back to one of the very busy channels and i have to login a switch back.  It seems that in “manual” mode, it lets you select a channel, but it still does an audit every day and overrides your selection.  Also, the view the WiFi’s view of channel use is different from my computers view.I would like to be able to force the router onto a specific channel and lock it.

Brand new out of box and Ethernet ports do not work. They flash green during startup but then stay dark. I'm just going to return via Amazon if there's no real advice.  The WiFi is just fine. 

I recently bought the Surfboad SBG8300. The WiFi signal is not great in various parts of the house. Is there a WiFi extender or a mesh system that is compatible with this modem/router? What should I add to the system to extend the WiFi signal? Thank you!

All of my devices have connected to my new Arris 54 WiFi Cable Modem except for my SurfacePro. How do I get my SurfacePro to be able to connect to my G54?  Thx

First of all, my speed test only shows 60 for download. That may be the problem? But I have an SBG8300, and I'm only getting sound on all my streaming services. The picture is black and buffering on Netflix. On Hulu and Peacock, I get sound, but the screen is green. Anybody ever have this problem or know how to fix it? I already restarted the modem. This problem is in my new TV. Old TV doesn't have this issue. On the TV with the problem, the home screens on all streaming services are good and clear.

I am trying to connect to my WiFi but unable to connect to both 2.4 and 5.When trying to sign in on the app, it tells me to connect to the networks but am unable to. My ethernet works fine, but can not figure out what to do.G34 w/ XFinity service 

So I have the IPv6 Enabled but not working so how do I set up??? Using Comcast Internet provider.

I purchased a new SBG8300 from Amazon a little over a month ago and it had been working fine. Last week the wifi connection started dropping out. Devices wouldn’t stay connected. It turned out that one of the issues was with my service provider. Their issue was all fixed on Friday and they even let me use one of their routers over the weekend to ensure everything stayed connected correctly. Now I have switched back to the SBG8300 and added the same ssids as before. Hardwired devices work as they should. 5G WiFi devices stays connected 90% of the time. 2.4G WiFi devices will not connect at all. The 2.4G ssid continually goes in and out back to back and never lets anything connect and even when it does, it doesn’t have internet access. I also had an issue with devices auto connecting even though the ssid/password are exactly the same as before. This is a continuing issue after multiple power cycles and factory resets. What could be the issue? 

Hi, I recently used G34 to replace Xfinity’s own modem. However, I noticed the upload speed is dropping from 100 Mbps to 4 Mbps. So I am wondering what might be the reason? And how to fix this issue.Thanks,Yanghao

I just setup the SBG8300 and now that I have the device configured I was wondering if there was a way to backup the settings just in case ?

Help! I have XFinity internet, and their technical support team insists the problem lies with my modem/router. I’ve had an Arris G36 Gateway for less than two years, but for the last few weeks, my internet keeps disconnecting, and when it does work, it’s painfully slow. The XFinity rep said there could be missing or outdated boot files. Could that be correct? If so, how do I update  them? Thank you in advance, sincerely.Signed, Noob.

My wifi status are showing all disconnected. When I try to start the 2.4G/5G radio, the dashboard says “Operation Failed”. I tried to do the factory resetting, it won’t allow me to set up the wifi name/password either. The error message is still “operation failed”. The wired connection works fine.  Anyone has suggestions on how to fix this ? 

I have G36 and with Xfinity provider the internet drops all the time, I have to restart the modem daily. I tried to contact support but no help from them.  Regret buying G36

The http://192.168.0.1 will not connect. It’s as if it does not exist. I finally was able to go to another webpage while looking for entry, (SBG8200), finding an SBG8300 access page beneath & accessed the numbers above, with https:// Redirect. I clicked the box “Proceed”, the page says “502 Bad Gateway. Certificate verify failed: self signed certificate in certificate chain”. Why doesn’t your own (ARRIS) web pages work??? Remind me again why I spent my money to not have access to my Surfboard???

should I use a booster with my 8300 and if so, any model recommendations?  2nd floor of home has slower internet 

Hello. Please I need help to connect an app with my 2.4 G wifi that my SBG6700-AC router has .

I’m trying to connect my tv to this new modem I purchased...following the instructions in the book..using the 192.168.0.1 was able to rename it but then it kicked me out and can’t get back to where I was and none of the passwords work.  Please help. 

I keep trying to set a custom time restriction and the app changes my days/times. Why?

Recently upgraded to the G36. I was getting 900-950 download with the provider hitron unit. Now with the new G36 installation I am seeing 550 at absolute best hardwired directly to the modem.Firmware Version:01.04.028.01.01.NCSI called Sparklight technical and they said this currently the latest firmware that they can upload.I have attached some info. Any help would be greatly appreciated!  

Hi!I recently bought an ARRIS SURFboard SBG7400AC2 Certified Refurbished (this was an accident, I meant to buy a new one!). Anyway, I need to return it because it doesn’t work. I’m trying to figure out how to return it, but all the customer support options say they cannot help me because my warranty is expired. (I bought it one week ago, January 6.)Surfboard.com says it should have a 1 year limited warranty, but I can’t find any information about that in the box. :(Thanks!

need a password for G34 modem

Isp says connection to g34 is good but when trying to access Internet through any device wired or wireless it says no internet access when logging in through my PC and going to the to the troubleshooting and then diagnostic tools and testing connectivity it says everything is okay. Packets are sent and packets are received just fine.

Does the G54 have a the Quality of Service (QoS) feature to manage and prioritize bandwidth priority?If not, any good reason why QoS is excluded?

Got the G34 a few days ago, which I bought despite concerns, having read about how frequently it is a returned item to stores. I set it up easily enough and got laptops and cell phones connected without difficulty. I even managed to change the provided network password to something more easily remembered. And then the trouble begins.I have tried repeatedly to set up the connection between my Echo Studio and my network. No luck despite repeated efforts, including rebooting both the Echo device and the G34 on various occasions. I have some other simple devices, eg smart bulbs, fan/light, and they too, I have been unable to get onto my network. (Laptops and phones remained connected, or were easily reconnected after a reboot, during all of this time>)I previously used a Netgear C3700 and had no problems connecting any of my devices to enable their remote operation using Alexa on the Echo. I am at my wit's end and am already considering returning the G34.Please c
