Wi-Fi Modems

I have a SBG7400AC2 cable modem and right now it is at 5.0 ghz but I need to switch back to 2.4ghz because of a Wi-Fi enabled thermostat only will work with the slower speed.

I want to change the wifi password. i just brought the Arris surfboard AC19000Mbps how can i change it?

What could be the problem. I thought this router/modem was compatible for use on xfinity. I can go 2 or 3 days and no problems then I can have 2 or 3 hangups. Rebooting my computer normally fixes the problem. What could be causing this? Sometimes it hangs up and the mouse doesn’t work and other times the screen hangs up when online but I can use the computer off line.

Hi I have a Arris G34 the light is orange and it's like they aren't any internet coming into my house. None of my devices will pick the modem up. I have tried unplugging and a 30-30-30 rest nothing works. I bought this back in May of 2023 what is wrong with my modem? Plz help!

Please tell me the best 2.4Ghz “Settings” I should be using to provide the most increased range of my SBG7600AC2 Modem Router. I have a BLINK Camera network and the WIFI signal strength is very low on 2 of the five cameras. Thank you.

Is there an actual User Manual for the G36 modem? If so, can someone provice a link to it?

Apparently Arris sent out a firmware update on November 1st 2023. M ISP is Xfinity, and since this is my OWN gateway, Xfinity does not/cannot update the firmware. It has to come directly from Arris. Since this “update”, I can no longer forward ports to enable access from outside my network. I did a RESET of the G34, but it doesn’t help. Below are the software versions BEFORE 11/01/2023 and AFTER 11/01/2023 BEFORE 11/01/2023 AFTER 11/01/2023 RESETTING the G34 did not go back to the original version for some reason. Is there a way to get back to the WORKING version? Or is there a way to make the NEW version work correctly? Here is Port Forwarding BEFORE 11/01/2023 and AFTER 11/01/2023 WORKING NOT WORKING Is there a solution for this?

My PC does not show network as available. Have: Done multiple resets modem/router Powered off PC Manually set up G36 name and SSID ipconfig Updated drivers Uninstalled/reinstalled drivers 7) Set up wifi hotspot with iphone-which connects no problem Set up ethernet directly to PC which works no problem It simply does not recognize the DEVICE FOR WIFI

My ARRIS SBG 10 won’t connect. I connected the SBG 10 to the cable coming in from Xfinity, connected it to my PC via a network cable and connected the power. The lights blinked and then stayed on. I downloaded the app onto my phone. The phone “connected” to the ARRIS 2611 network, but without internet access. The same was true for the ARRIS-2611-5G network. When I reconnected my old modem and router, my internet worked again. Does Xfinity have to do something for me to be able to use this unit? I did download the Xfinity app but I’m not sure how to sign in to our account. Is CommScope now the parent company and maker of the Arris Modems?

After my G34 dropped the SSID for the 5G I had to reset it. It now will not allow me to change the password, so I had to change it on my computers. When I connect to the network now my Bitdefender alerts me that it is an unsafe network. I’m using the recommended WPA2/WPA3 security on the router.

I was wondering if it is possible for someone to be piggybacking off my internet? I do have it set up on a password, but my internet is starting to run slower, and also buffering a lot. Would this be N router question or not? If it is, is there a way to find out?

Been having around 1% packet loss for a while now and I think it may be the modem/router. I have ethernet and got a new cable (my ISP is Xfinity). They told me that “a few percent packet loss is normal” which doesn’t make sense because I am hard wired. Is the PUMA 7 chipset inside causing this? I called the number and it said they were closed, it's not midnight!!! Sunday through Saturday business hours? JUST DAY 7 DAYS A WEEK!!!! Anyway, so the setup app doesn't work because I have a newer version of android, so I typed in modem IP and that doesn't work on either of my android phones.. so now what? Xfinity has been no help either, but at least they are actually open.

I have Spectrum with their modem and separate router. I learned that if their service goes down my LAN does not function. Is that true with the G36? Also one poster said his download speed decreased significantly compared to the Spectrum modem.

G36 providing internet to laptops and phones. Not to Peloton, Nest or Alexa devices.

Hello - I recently replaced my Comcast gateway with an Arris G36 modem/router, as recommended by various people. I was able to hook it up and establish connectivity to all of the home devices. The G36 doesn’t seem to have the same reach as the Comcast equipment, but in effort to save some money on my monthly bills, I was willing to see it this move will be effective. The only real problem I have relates to the signal not reaching my detached garage/workshop (~30 yards from my house). In addition to the convenience of having a WiFi signal in this space, my garage doors are connected (via WiFi) to the “MyQ” interface, allowing me to open and close the doors, access diagnostics, etc. The G36 simply does not reach the receiver/s. So, I performed some research. I should say that I’m no longer a tech-savvy guy… the world of technology has proven to be much too fast for me these days! That said, I don’t think solving this problem should warrant a degree in networking ;) So, I purchased a “TP-

I’ve had the arris sbg 8300 modem router for about a month. Lost internet connection a few days ago and after connecting again, I only have access to YouTube and google on my laptops and have not internet access at all on my phone. (Phone shows it’s connected but can’t access a variety of websites). My 10 year old tablet has no connection issues. I have done a hard reset, defaulted to factory settings, and unplugged/plugged the modem. What else can I do?

I did a factory reset on my SBG00DAE36 & it is asking for me to set up a temporary Wi-Fi network. I scanned the QR code on the bottom of the device & it filled the SSID & the WiFi security key that is listed on the label. I click Submit & am told that WiFi is not enabled. I have tried going to 192.168.0.1 on a PC connected to the modem & just get 'No Internet'. I have verified through the Xfinity app that the modem is online per them. At my wits end what to do.

buffering loosing signal shuts off

Had several instances where my month old G34 drops my 5.0 band but 2.4 stays unaffected. We’re on Xfinity. Recycling the router reconnects both bands WiFi connection. Any insight on how to prevent the dropping of 5.0?

I recently bought a G54 Docsis 3.1. When I navigate to Parental controls > Managed Sites > Block Sites. I follow the process to add a blocked site, and enable parent controls and *NOTHING* happens. The site doesn’t ‘save’ and doesn’t appear in a list of blocked sites. It does absolutely nothing. This is a basic feature that should work - why doesn’t it?

I really, really want to change my network name and password. Where do I do this? Specifically.
