Wi-Fi Modems

Purchased surfboard ax 3000. Having issues with cox service. Internet freezes, loads, disconnects. Cox support told me this modem is not compatible with cox panaoramic WiFi 

I recently purchased and installed an Arris SBG6950AC2 router/wi-fi cable modem for use on Xfinity/Comcast. Now I can’t watch Amazon Prime Live TV or Movies, etc.  I get an error to contact Amazon customer support… I can watch YouTube and access FaceBook, etc. Can the issue be a setting in the Arris Surfboard SBG6950AC2 setup or permissions?Everything was working with my older TP-Link Model 7610.   I get all the way to the “watch” page and then Amazon aborts the connection or does not connect.I verified my router is working ok to access the internet, send email, buy stuff from Amazon. Any input is greatly appreciated! Thanks, much, happy New Year! Charles

I’m suddenly having photos on my remote drive showing up as corrupted with distortion and lines running through them. These images are transferred between my MacBook Pro and the Synology Raid via WiFi. The image can look fine on my computer but as soon as it’s transferred to the drive, it is corrupted. Or an image on the drive can look fine but then when I reopen it a few minutes later, it is corrupted. I suspect the G54 is causing this. How can I test for it and fix it?

I've unplugged all cables from and power cord from modem. The blue online comes immediately on, but will not show reading for Wifi.. any ideas?

WiFi signal is not being seen by my laptop, my laptop does see all the neighbors WiFi signals in my area. I have ten other devices on line with no issues, cell phones, smart TV's, iPads, all work fine on the WiFi, never seen this before, did reinstall on the NIC, updates on the PC, and NIC, ideas, help, greatly appreciate it. BTW, hard line CAT 6 works great. 

Does this modem and router combo have a WPS button?

Is there a way to create different wifi names for the different bandwidths? my older device (Surface Pro 3) can’t seem to connect to the wifi network at all

I use my modem with Xfinity and it’s noted that my modem needs a firmware update. I believe this is why it can process at faster speeds. Obviously Xfinity cannot push that update to my Arris SBG10. The current firmware version it’s using is 9.1.103AA85. I can’t find anywhere on Arrris (now Comscope) site how to access the update.

No wifi. Worked before the storm, xfinity service provider said internet restored 10 hours ago, xfinity tech said the wifi should work after they troubleshot and since it’s not to contact arris about the surfboard g36

Trying to login to my SBG8300 and get ALERT Operation Failed. Called Tech Support and they said my warranty has expired but if I wanted support I would have to get a warranty.

Hello, I am trying to set up the app on my mobile device using the pamphlet included in the box but it is not working.   It was originally set up using another persons information rather than my own and they lost access to their email to get into the account.  How do I, if possible , reset it and set it up to only my information and also get the app to work on my iPhone 11.  I need to be able to have control of the modem and devices.  Thank you. 

I purchased the G36 modem/router because it specifically had Wifi 6. Sometimes I am getting very good and fast connection with my devices, but other times, at least once or twice a day, my devices will lose connection and sometimes disconnect from the network entirely. I have to restart the G36 each time this happens and things work again but this usually takes about 5 minutes at least which is not acceptable when on a work call. Are there any resolutions or firmware updates that might fix this? 

Everyday my download speed drops to 32MBPS or 500+ when I restart and or when it decides to work properly wired and wirelessly. Upload speed is where it should be. This has been going on for about 2 weeks and I’m close to getting a different modem. Cox says nothing is wrong on their end. 

How do you reset the modems name and password?

I just purchased a SBG8300 and I have xfinity 1GB plan. I previously was using an sbg6950ac2. We are direct connecting via ethernet.With the old modem, we were getting speeds of around 400 MBS using comcast speed test so we decided to upgrade. However, with the new modem we are only getting around 150MBS. We tried multiple devices and different cables. Interestingly I am getting around 350MBS using my galaxy phone using wifi…Comcast of course says they are not the problem and that I should contact the manufacturer of the modem. Any suggestions?

Man,From everything Im reading on this forum and Xfinity forums, I really should have thought sixteen times over about getting this model.So:Looking for some suggestions here. I am a gamer, Xbox One Series X, PS5, Switch, you name it. I was not getting the speed I wanted to stream and game with friends, etc. I was paying Xfinity for one of their basic router modem combos and had the 800mbps plan. Surprisingly it was really decent speeds for that plan but my upload was capped and it was causing lag in certain situations. I bought the new router (SBG8300 which was listed as a compatible device) but Im not getting anywhere near the 1.2gbs and now Im hearing it doesn’t truly support the gigabit plans from individuals on here. Im thinking of returning this router tomorrow and getting a better model. Any suggestions on models? I am getting like 250-300mbps on direct ethernet (expensive double braided ethernet), and seems like better speeds over 5ghz wifi. But I

How far is the range for the SBG10, really? I'm trying to find the specs again and I thought I read that it was up to a 1400 sq ft area.I've tried two different copies of this model and they have both had trouble reaching a device barely 30 feet away... Is that normal or are the specs wrong?

Just setup our Surfboard G36 and I can't get it to connect to our HP Photosmart 5520. Any suggestions? I've tried the 5G and 2.4.

Arris SBG8300 as provided does not allow VPN pass-thru.  There is article (link below) that provides direction how to do so.  But this requires newer firmware version 01.02.078.04.NCS or later to enable via ALG sub-menu. My box has earlier firmware 1.01.137.NCS which does not have the ALG menu.  Thus I cannot enable VPN.Arrris support says contact my ISP (Spectrum) to push new firmware.BUT: Spectrum doesn’t have the new firmware; they say that Arris has not provided any updates since the 1.01 version.SO: caught in nowhere land, cannot use VPN.  The link below is helpful ONLY if you have firmware 1.02.078 or later; if you do not, then apparently SOL??Anyone else having this issue?  Any work-around?? Link below that helps if you have proper firmware:http://

For the past few weeks my internet has gone out almost every day.  Resetting the modem seems to fix it, at least temporarily.  I’ve talked to Xfiniity several times and they say I should replace the modem, yet several nearby neighbors have had the same issue and it’s unlikely that all of our modems would malfunction at the same time.Unfortunately I don’t have much expertise with modem/internet setup and I have no idea how to troubleshoot it.  Any advice?

I’ve had this router for a little under a year now. I haven’t had any problems until recently. In the last few months, connection has cut out at night typically around 9pm. It would cut in and out through the night. But start January 1 (writing this on January 7), it started to cut out more frequently spreading to throughout the day. It cuts out every few minutes to a couple hours for anywhere between 1-10 minutes at a time. I tried asking my apartment complex and they directed me to the wifi provider. I contacted the wifi provider and they forced a reset. They said the modem is working fine. They said the problem is that the modem and router aren’t connection like they should.I have tried unplugging and plugging back in. That didn’t help at all. I tried it several times. It’s still faulty and cutting out.

My Arris Surfboard G34, which I am using with Xfinity, consistently crashes, or is unable to connect. I am having to reset it at least once per day, if not more. This is the second model I have bought, and both have had the exact same problem. The Surfboard app is almost useless and I have to login to the desktop/browser version to actually get anything done. I have such buyers remorse about this thing. It’s awful, absolutely terrible.

The router is correctly set up with ISP, able to restart router from xfinity app, but can’t get the router to connect to phone or surfboard app. Intro packet has different SSID and password than on the box, even successfully scanned the QR on modem and still said it couldn’t find the network, any ideas?

My G34 loses connection at around 7:00 everyday, it stays solid blue for a minute then blinks blue then blinks green then goes solid and repeats over and over. Idk what to do at this point no wires are damaged device is brand new and my isp says it’s fine.
