G34 | G36

I can connect my computer and phones however I cannot connect my printer.  What do I need to do?

I have cox for internet provider. We have had signal drops by the dozen and they recommended we replace our modem and router which i did with the G36. Still no luck. Cox sent out a tech who found a problem with their feeder line. Today they replaced that cable.and tried the reset  No connection. I have unplugged and plugged the G36  and tried the reset switch multiple times. I get a green flashing light that changes to a blue flashing light. Never goes solid. Cox does a reboot from their end and it is unsuccessful. Modem is not connecting to their network. Have double and triple checked the SN and the Mac address and all seems good. I am at a total loss as to what to do next.. 

I have an existing Arris G36.  I’d like to extend the WiFi.  There is a “Mesh” menu on the G36.  Is the W121 mesh a good choice?  If so, what’s the best configuration?  Should the G36 try to act as a node on the W121 network, or should it disable its own WiFi and be connected via cable to the first W121 node?  Is the W121 a peer-to-peer system, or is one designated the controller?

Just replaced a defective Netgear. Installed and contacted Cox who activated. Can see IP address, gateway, etc but Wi-Fi and LAN devices cannot connect to Internet. Wi-Fi (phone) shows as connected but no internet. Contacted Cox after activation and they now state they cannot see the device.   

Hi. This may be an obvious problem, but I can’t seem to figure it out.I recently got the G34 and my iPad is not connecting to the wifi. I’ve reset the network settings on the ipad, tried 2.4 and 5 ghz networks, and the guest network.I’ve also checked to see if the device is being blocked somehow, as well as added the MAC Address manually.I know that the ipad wifi itself is working because it can connect to my phone’s hotspot.I initially thought it was a software incompatibility, because the iOS version is 11.1 which is quite old. However since DOCSIS 3.1 is backwards compatible, I don’t think that would be the issue.My old router was the Arris DG1670A, which I can confirm the ipad did work with. 

MAC filtering screen will not populate.  After I have successfully set this feature up, a few days later the screen wont populate and the settings no longer work. The screen stays stuck at “This may take several minutes...” I have to restore default gateway and set it up again only for the screen to eventually not populate and stop working! Rinse and Repeat!  Why is this happening?  

I have a G34 that for some unknown reason is having a problem with 2.4 Ghz band. I ran a speed test yesterday and my download speed is is 5 Mbps !  My 5 Ghz speeds are over 400 Mbps.  I have tried different channels to no avail. Speed remains the same.  Router is 1 month old and is on Comcast. A This problem started 2 days ago.  Any ideas on what happened?

When I attempt to connect my printer to my g34 router via wifi, it does not connect. I know that it can recognize the network but when it tries to connect, it fails everytime.  

I have a Solid Amber light on my G36. I have Recycled the Power from unplugging and tried the Reset button. I cant seem to get a Internet connection. We had some recent storms where the Power could have possibly surged the Router. Is there a possible fix for this?

I am very frustrated because we have a strong wifi signal for both 2.4 and 5 ghz networks, yet only the 5 ghz network maintains an internet connection.  On my phone it will have internet for a minute or less. I have changed channels and nothing works. Please help. 

Why can’t I open the IP address ON THE MODEM to change the wifi password????????????????????

i have a surfboard G36 modem router and my tv is connected to internet via Wi-Fi and every few days wi-fi connection drops

I recently bought a G36 router, and it has been performing well.  However, a couple times a week, the ethernet ports on the back go dark, and the devices connected to them drop off the network.  I know it is the gateway and not the devices, because all the devices will simultaneously drop off. Power cycling the gateway temporary solves the problem, but it inevitably returns.  I have tried a factory reset, but to no avail.  Its pretty frustrating, as ethernet is supposed to be more reliable than WiFi, but that seems not to be the case.

Got home from night away, solid orange light. Attempted multiple resets, light remains solid orange. Did 30-30-30, checked with Xfinity etc. 

My home wifi shows up in all my electronic devices available network EXCEPT for my Windows 10 HP computer.  My neighbors wifi shows in my available network.  I have done the troubleshooting reset suggested by various youtube personalities but it did not fix the problem. My internet provider has sent signal to the device several times and still nothing.  I use the computer for work so this is very inconvenient. Any suggestions to fix the issue is appreciated. 

I’m trying to login to the web GUI but in the app it doesn’t show the credentials. I shows the this screeAny idea how I can get the credentials?I’m also having a problem where devices stop connecting to 5G until rebooting the Gateway.Thanks in advance.Eric

Can’t log into the web portal at all. I’ve done this over a few times including a factory reset. I’ve had web portal access but the app would never finish the setup with error. The very first setup I had the app working, but never could log into the web portal. After the factory reset I’m in the same situation I was the first time. App now works, web portal once again denies all attempts as incorrrect log in info.

Good evening, I’m trying to get to the bottom of whether or not Xfinity did something to the lines in my area as part of a recent “network enhancement” that is now causing the Arris CMTS to put my modem via a profile config update on bad channels multiple times a week overnight the last couple weeks. When this occurs, I wake up to it and the download speed is virtually non existent. It isn’t until I power cycle the device and it puts it back on presumably fine/clear channels that everything returns to normal.As far as timeline, the CMTS wasn’t making these dynamic profile update changes to these presumably bad channels until after Xfinity did “network enhancement” line work back on 4/10 and follow up work on 4/14. Almost immediately after the 4/14 work, that night is when I started seeing the issues with my modem the next morning on 4/15. Since then, the CMTS has been putting me on bad channels 4 times now, overnight, between 1AM and 7AM EST, most recently last night. It

Hi, Does the G34 3.1 Modem/Router work with a phone (landline using Xfinity) with a Phone Ethernet adapter?

G34 connected to Cox network in Arizona. I have many (30+) devices connected to wi-fi on router. I’m trying to separate data devices (desktop computer with wifi, iPads and iPhones, printer, Amazon firestick, three security cameras) from other support stuff (pellet cooker, LED lights, electricity monitor, solar panel monitor, etc.). I have put some items on Guest network, and I wanted to try adding some to Secondary network. I enabled 2.4 GHz Secondary network, but it does not access the internet consistently, so it’s not very reliable. What am I doing wrong? Do I need to notify the ISP that the secondary network is being used? (I don’t think so, but I’m stumped). Can I not use the primary and guest AND secondary networks at the same time? I’d like to be able to use the Primary, Secondary and Guest networks to split up the devices, particularly the 2.4GHz devices, because many devices don’t use 5GHz band. So far, I’m not able to use the Secondary network consistently. L

I host a website on my lan, and have the new arris g34 configured to forward the appropriate port range. However I cannot reach the external site from inside my LAN. Someone suggested that this is due to loopback restrictions on the g34. I can’t find a control point for any setting like that. Is there one?

im looking at the ARRIS Surfboard G34 and i was wonder what providers it supports it name drops a few but im looking to get service from TDS and i was wondering if they are a compatible service provider with this modem / router

Is it possible to use a G34 modem/router to create a mesh network?  I’d like to simply buy a 2nd wifi router, but I’m assuming that if I do that, each router would have to have its own network name, and couldn’t be shared like I understand a mesh network to be.

Have a G36 running our network. I have several concrete block walls that inhibit the signal from reaching my backyard. Can I simply run a giant ethernet cable from my home G36 (Router 1 “R1”) to my outside, air conditioned shed where another G36 (Router 2 “R2”) would reside? Is that the simplest way to expand my outside wifi coverage? R2 would be near a window in the shed that in theory could reach the entirety of my backyard.I’ve asked around and no one seems to have answer for this problem otherwise… TIA
