Hello everyone. Have been looking and researching SB6190 spec and all reviews and packages advertise it as up to 1.4Gbps. Purchased a new one from Walmart today but the box now says up to 1Gbps. However, all websites and packages say it’s up to 1.4Gbps except for Arris Webpage. Not sure what the actual speed spec is for SB6190 and whether there’s an update that I need to do to bring it up to 1.4Gbps or if I just have a slower version of it. If anyone knows the story behind it, I’d really appreciate it. 

My brand new Arris Modem/Router was working fine until a Comcast technician unplugged it last night.  Now nothing works.  No streaming, E Mail Googling etc.  Nothing.  Comcast tells me I am getting a good signal and that I should contact Arris to address the problem.  I rebooted it this morning and I have no Internet service.

Just swapped out my Comcast gateway for this Arris Surfboard SB6190. I can see the new modem/ router and don’t know the password? Help!

After a power outage the modem is flashing. All the lights are just like vibrating and nothing happens when attempting to restart it. Any help is appreciated

Is there anything that must be  done to configure this modem to support IPv6 dual stack on an opnsense router?  My internet service provider is wowway residential, if that matters.  If so; can you point me in the direction of the instructions. Thanks

For the past few days, I am observing this issue wherein the internet connection is dropped for few seconds every 30 minutes or so.When I logged into xfinity, it says SB6141 is end-of-life and is not supported for my (800 Mbps) plan.Do I need to upgrade my modem to a docsis 3.1 ? Here is what I see from the logs  

I’ve had this modem for a couple years with Xfinity and so far no issues to report.  Recently, I’ve been getting emails from Xfinity that I need to upgrade my modem to match the speeds I have.  I’m on a 1200 Mbps service plan. I thought that was strange as the box this modem comes in states download speeds up to 10Gbps.  Xfinity tells me that this modem only supports 1Gbps.  I looked on Arris’s website and now I see that the information appears to have changed.  What am I missing?  Does this modem not support above 1Gbps now?  I bought this thinking I was future proofing but it appears that I was wrong.  Appreciate the help correcting my thinking.

Bought a arri sb6190 and trying to connect to a netgear nighthawk r700 but all I get is connection fail on ny device

I recently install and SB 8200 Modem and every devise that I have had no problem getting internet connectivity on every device except my Honeywell Gateway.  I use a Netgear switch.Working with the Honeywell team they are convinced that there is something preventing their gateway from connecting to the modem.  They sent me the email below in an attempt to do some trouble shooting:I am sending you some network recommendations that might cause that your thermostat can't connect to your home network. You may your ISP (Internet Service Provider) and check the next settings. 2.4Ghz, or 5GHz network. The TH9585WF will only connect to the 2.4GHz.  Enterprise Business Networks requiring RAS, Guest networks, or networks requiring Web Portal authentication are not supported. Recom

SB8200 hardware version 4 is not attempting to update firmware after activating with Spectrum. I need the update so that I can enable link aggregation.  I used the Spectrum live chat feature and the agent told me they won't push an update because it's 3rd party hardware even though it's on their approved device list. I tried a reset to see if that would make a difference, but no. I'm including a copy of the event log from after the reset, in case that is any help.  

How tall (top-to-bottom) is the S33?

Just installed an SB 8200 and I want to make sure I have the maximum network security that this device will supply. How do I check/adjust the security settings?

I have a SB6183 router. How do I disable wps on the router?

My SB8200 modem is only connecting with Docsys 3.0 (Green) on upstream.  The downstream is blue however.  Any thoughts on what is causing this?

Is there any way to send the Event Logs to a syslog server?Local carrier is having issues, but wants to see local modem logs before they’ll open a Support ticket.

Hello, so I had purchased a SB6183 a few years ago, and had it working with my carrier which is optimum/altice at my old location. I moved and transferred my service to my new residence, but when I tried to use my original modem I had purchased, I was getting an error preventing me from using the modem. I called optimum/altice and they explained to me that for some reason the Mac address on my modem is still associated with my previous location and they couldn't fix it right there and there and would escalate it to another divisions. I haven't heard anything from there on the matter, but before I reach back out to them, is there any alternatives or fixes that I could do on my own, since the modem is mine and shouldn't be locked out because I moved. Thank you.

Comcast said the first time our netgear modem may be too old, even though it was a docsis 3.1.  We got a motorola a few days later and had the same issues.They came back a few weeks later and replaced the old rg58 drop (they should have done that a long time ago)  and ran a new cable from the pole all the way to the modem outlet. Signal improved, dropouts slightly improved but still goes out for minutes to an hour. A week later they came back again, replaced a port on the pole and adjusted the DB down a little. But didn’t make any difference. On the comcast board someone said that motorola may have a firmware issue causing all the errors on the OFDM channel. So we got the SB8200 and this one too is having dropouts and the log is full of errors. Comcast says everything looks fine on their end.  It’s doubtful we had 3 bad modems in a row. All these errors are just from just 2 hours of uptime and we are loosing connection every 5 minutes now.

Directions to what I need help with:File Explorer>Network>Network Infrastructure> right click Arris TG1682G (your router goes here) >Properties>Click Settings under “General” tab>Click “Add...” to add any service>OK. This may work for you, but when I click “OK”, I assume this would save the new service I have added, yet it never does. This is strange, as this worked for me back in 2019-2021, but doesn’t now. Please help. ISP: Comcast (this should not be relevant). 

I have a SB8200 surfboard modem.  Trying to connect my LG tv to the wifi but do not know how to find the password.  I’ve looked on the bottom of the modem and tried everything there but nothing works.  The other thing that is strange is that the tv and my computer call the a MOTOF512...and not an Arris surfboard.  Maybe Motorola used to own Arris or something.  I don’t know.  Any assistance here would be greatly appreciated!
