I have been checking the tools of the 2.4GHz band to make it better and I found the dynamic channel selection that will be so helpful to me. However, to enable this one remains in gray; I have my router in auto for channels but in the advance part of this one is not letting me turn on the DCS. Also, I am steering the band with the 5 Ghz. I will appreciate your help :) 

I bought G36 modem in May 2024 and have been having no problem till about a month ago. Now I have to disconnect and connect the power several times daily. The streaming on my TV’s last only about 15-20 minutes after which there is no streaming and the screen states there a Network problem and to disconnect and reconnect the power source to the Modem. My internet provider is Xfinity. Some of the letters in the Surfboard community from 1 year ago,state that Arris is working on an update. Do they have an update? If so how can I get it. Is this a problem with Arris or Xfinity?

Every other device other than the Xbox has connected and works perfectly. I’ve tried everything I’ve seen on different theads to fix this problem. Factory reset, port forwarding, various setting and security protocol changes and nothing has worked. Xbox connects to modem/router g34 but can will launch any games or apps like Netflix, Hulu, max, etc. save your time and mine and don’t recommend I do anything I already have as I’ve done them multiple times with no success 

One cell phone in our household has ‘privacy warning’ and cannot access the internet. Everything else is working fine including all other cellular devices in the network.   Cannot get online to see what is connected. Need to reset username and password on Arris and do not see where to send email to reset

I started getting issues since past one month, Xfinity asked to change modem.  

Through my internet provider, I've got a SURFboard DOCSIS 3.1 Gigabit cable mode & WiFi Router and need to change user name and password.  Tried the 192.168.0.1 web search and got a page with this address:   http://192.168.0.1/login.php.  Looked sketchy.  Thank you for the help!

On August 3, 2024, I activated my new Arris S34 modem thru the Xfinity app.This morning, I called Xfinity to ask, what’s my firmware update schedule.Xfinity said, Arris is responsible for that.Where do I go from here?Thank you!

Installed s33 modem, should I not get a new internet name to set up in settings? 

Is it possible to remotely see what devices are connected to my network? And if so, how do I do that? Thank you. 

Howdy folks, I have an SB 8200 that has been working great for 4 years, but over the past 6 months or so it has been dropping connection semi-regularly. After Googling that the unit should last 2 - 4 years I figured mine must be at the end of its lifecycle. If that is true, what should I replace it with? It still seems to be rated highly. I'm not very IT sophisticated although my whole house is smart tech equipped. I use Cox Coaxial gig speed for my internet. Any suggestions for replacement make and model would be appreciated. Thx

At the request of my ISP WOW I am attempting to connect a new Arris SB8200.After connecting the power to the modem I received a single green power light on the front of unit.I pushed and held the tiny reset button in the back for 15 seconds although I didn’t feel any spring to it?I connected the ethernet cable from my Windows 10 PC.Opened my browser with the 192.168.100.1 address to test the ethernet connection and it would not connect? rebooted PC still no connect to 192.168.100.1.This PC connection is known good I am using it successfully to post this with my old Arris SB6141.   Its the simplest ethernet to PC single connection no router or any other devices.No flashing lights on the front of the SB8200 modem after the reset either?I have not moved the coax cable over to the new SB8200 yet since I can’t login using Admin to check the signal strengths.Very impressed with my old Arris 6141 and the WOW customer service said your forum was the best and usually gets to the bottom of even

Hi. Surprising how those little (especially the blue ones) LED’s light up my spare bedroom at night. I’m guessing there’s no way to dim them on the unit itself?  There’s no user manual and I’m unable to access the device with that IP address shown in the quick start guide.  Sux but looks like I’ll have to block the lights with something.

I bought my S33 in July 2023. A few weeks ago (Jan 2025) my S33 began making a noticeable buzzing/squeaking sound, which seems to have gotten louder. Hard to notice with TV on (right next to it) but in a quiet room its ultra annoying. Connectivity didn't seem to be affected though. To try to fix the noise I tried briefly unplugging it and plugging it back in. That didn't help. So, I tried to unplug it and let it sit for a bit, when I plugged it back in it gave me a white status light and makes a constant rhythmic buzz squeak now, no internet connection. Left it that way for several minutes and status/connection did not change. What's going on here?

I’ve had a x5042 Mesh Extender fitted in my house yesterday, but about an hour after it was fitted the green light goes out on the Extender, so I had another one fitted today, but the green light on this also goes out after about an hourMy internet strangely seems to be working fine even after the green light goes out 

We had winter weather in GA and woke up to the wifi being out. No outages from Xfinity. Restarted the router, connection shows as blue, but no wifi. Xfinity can't detect it. Ethernet connected computer can't see it. Tried doing a factory reset, but nothing happens. It seems to be basically unresponsive. Any ideas?

I cannot get past the first portion of the mesh wifi system setup. Stuck trying to establish network connection.  

The app wouldn't connect to my G36, kept getting 0000-1614 error code.  So I logged into the web interface.  After updating my password, it asked me to log in again.  Fine no problems, BUT it won't accept my password!  Now I have no way to log into my router/modem.  It keeps telling me to use the email address I used for the app.  Did but it still will not acknowledge my password.  I've reset the modem so many times is sad.  I'm fed up!  How do I get my password to work on the website since the app won't work?

Hello I’m trying to play an online game on Xbox but I can’t because it says my UPnP is off. I have a G34 modem/router. How can I turn it on?

I have set up my G36 via the web browser.  When I try to log in to the router from the Mobile app (on the same network) it prompts to do a factory reset on the router.  I have tried the app on two different mobile devices on the network and they both prompt for factory reset.  I have no problem accessing the router via a web browser.

There is No username or password sticker for my Arris VIP5602WT? I can’t login the 192.168.1.254 webpage. What can I do? The default Username is likely ‘admin,’ but the default Password is not ‘admin’ and it’s not ‘password.’ What might it be? Or how can I go about finding the password? Can I change the password without the original default password. Probably not eh. What should I do? 

"Cannot connect to your home network."I cannot register my modem to be able to use the app. I've tried all troubleshooting options provided.

I cannot get Wi-Fi calling to work with the SBG7400AC2. I have Vyve cable internet and Verizon cell service. This modem is new, and I had the same problem on the previous Surfboard that we were renting from the ISP. Also, I had this problem on my older phone (Galaxy S8+) and thought it was because the phone was so old, but same thing is happening on the new phone (Galaxy S23 Ultra).I initially set the modem up using the Surfboard Central app and just accepted defaults. I did just login to the web interface to see if anything was blocked on the firewall. A Google search suggested enabling IPSec, PPTP, L2TP, and VPN Service for a Netgear router. Under Firewall settings, IPSec, PPTP, and L2TP pass-through are enabled. I can't find anything related to a VPN, and I can't imagine that would be the issue.This would be merely a nuisance, except often I'll miss calls and cannot send or receive texts when the phone has decided to try and use Wi-Fi calling.
