Cable modems with built-in Wi-Fi router

I bought an SBG8300 to replace the cable provider modem. I also have an eero wifi network. I started having issues and was advised to place the 8300 in bridge mode. I did that and all hell broke loose as my eero network was no longer recognized. I had to disable bridge mode on the router before things started working again. Any thoughts would greatly be appreciated
I’m trying to set up a new cable gateway but the app is stuck on the get started screen. If I disconnect the modem it will update to say it’s not connected. I’ve tried resetting it and restarting my phone Anyone experience this? Should I just use a browser to set it up?
My S36 Wifi connection speed varies after DOCSIS3.1 support upgrade from Xfinity. My earthnet connection speed is very stable to 300 MB. I have both 5Ghz (most my apple devices such as MacBook Pro, Ipad AIr, Iphone, Mac Minis) and 2.4 Ghz connection (Brother printers). Is it possible to set up S36 to ccept DOCSIS 3.0 or do I need to ask Xfinity to support DOCSIS 3.0 only?
Where do I find the password for my new cable modem/router
ArrisG34. When trying to set up my Google nest system I get this notice….“Network is offline Make sure your wifi router is online and connected to your modem. If you recently factory reset your wifi router, you'll need to remove your network from the app. In the Home tab, tap the Wifi button. When I contacted me ISP (Spectrum) they told me it appears that my network is turned off. The nest system was working perfectly a week ago but I was having trouble with bandwidth. That is when I reset the router and have had trouble since. Contacted Google and after hours of assistance told me it was t
Zoom keeps skipping and lagging on my I-pad Pro (latest generation) ever since I installed the new Arris G34. I was told by my IT department that the Wifi6 seems to be the issue. Anyone know how to disable the wifi6 either on the I-pad or router?
I’m not super techie or anything close to it but I do find it necessary to make this post. I have an Arris G36 Router that someone gave to me barely used. My ISP is xFinity and to get away from renting an xFinity router, I decided to replace it with the Arris G36.Every since I started utilizing the Arris G36, I have had a multitude of connection issues especially with my Explore Scientific weather station, an Epson ET-3850 printer, and (2) Linksys RE7000 Wi-Fi extenders. My passwords that were set up with the Arris router for the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz haven’t changed but I am continually being notified that when I try to connect to the router that the passwords are wrong. I have tried everything that I possibly know how to connect and it is just not working. Currently, the Security Mode in the Arris G36 is set to “WPA2/WPA3 Mixed Personal (AES)” and I’m not sure if that has anything to do with connecting, nor do I know how to change it to something else. Can anyone help me with any of this
For whatever reason my refurbished SGB8300 will not recognize the login password. I know it’s correct because I logged in every device in the house myself and now it won’t recognize it. I also cannot log into the admin page to reset things myself. So my thought is to hit the re-start button, lol. I just have no idea where te booklet that came with the unit is or if the reset will go to the “factory” settings or a “refurbished setting”. I was trying to chat with customer support but they wouldn’t recognize my unit, I guess a refurbished unit isn’t worthy of their attention. Any help is appreciated, Ed
September 2024 I ended Dynamic DNS service from dyndns (seemingly no longer working) and set up my G34 DDNS settings correctly with https://freedns.afraid.org/ To confirm it was working, I manually set an incorrect address at freedns. Then I disconnected the G34 coax (simulating a network outage) and reconnected. After some time freedns showed the correct address so the DDNS update that ran after the cable network was restored must have worked. But now, November 2024, Comcast has apparently once again renumbered the network. freedns does not have the new address, but retains the address from September. I can reach a host inside the G34 local network (at a remote location) so I have discovered the newly assigned IP address from Comcast. But freedns does not have it, so DDNS updates are not arriving. Is it possible the November 2023 firmware update which broke port forwarding has minimized DDNS updates in some way? Please tell me how often DDNS updates are sent, after power up?
Where do I find the password for my new Sbg10
Got a new router and now I can’t connect my HP ENVY 4500 printer. Is says something about adding the MAC address to the list of permitted devices for my wireless router? How do I access any information about my router?
‘password’ not accepted nor last 8 digits of s/n “user name or password invalid, please try again”MAC any browser, cleared cache cookies
I have followed all the instructions I can find on these boards and I contacted my ISP and they support the SBG 8300 and firmware is updated. I’m still having trouble getting wifi at 2.4Ghz. Nothing is connected, so there is no congestion. I’ve endabled/disabled and restarted mutliple times. I did a reset of the entire wifi on the modem. All without any luck. The 2.4ghz will appear briefly and then after a couple of seconds disappear.
I recently upgraded my WIFI Router/Cable Modem to an Arris Surfboard G34. It has been a challenge getting all my devices connected to say the least. I’m down to my last device. My Arlo security camera doesn’t seem to be recognizable using the G34. I’ve the Arlo instructions but I keep getting the same message no Arlo devices found on the network. It worked fine on the previous wifi router using the same procedure. The Arris manual gives instructions for computers and smart phones but not devices like this. I’m open to suggestions.
