I wasted $350 on this modem/router and I will never buy an Arris again. There is a firmware update that is needed and Xfinity and Arris need to get their act together!! I work for Xfinity and the company has been buying modems from Arris for years!! So why is this issue with the G36 not being addressed!! I'm a technician and I even had a maintenance tech check the signals levels at my home and in the area and he said there is no issue. He said it's the firmware that needs to be updated on this modem. I want my $350 dollars refunded!!
New G18 I've had provisioned by xfinity appears to be repeatedly attempting a firmware update, it'll start with the solid amber “receiving power" light, then switch to a blinking amber “firmware update" light, then a blinking green “aquiring downstream / upstream signal” light and then a solid blue light which should be where it stays but it'll quickly return to the blinking amber stage and then repeats everything again. I've tried factory resetting it multiple times but it does not help. I've considered that maybe the upstream or downstream power levels or SNR are too high or low but they all seem within specI was on the phone with Xfinity support for an hour when I initially got it and they could not determine an issue on their end, after leaving it for a night it fixed itself for a couple days but has started doing it again after a power outage.
when I scan the QR code on the bottom of my new G20 it says “no usable data found”. Haven’t been able to connect to the internet however the G20 is showing as connected and secured in my settings.
I have the same issue this question describes: The topic is closed now. Just wondering whether anyone managed to solve the issue without resorting to starting from scratch.
looking to register new SBG10, keep getting model # ans serial number don’t match. I am copying them right off the box and materials included with the device.Thoughts? Support is not open on Sat and this modem is installed in a second home so I don’t have hands on access all the itme

Not tech savvy. Purchased a G20 at the recommendation of Best Buy for gaming. I have a 600mbps plan. I'm only getting 6 download and 1 upload after swapping my previous router-modem. Talked to ISP and they're not sure. Is there a setting I need to change? I didn't see one on the website for the modem-router. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
I have a Surfboard app for our internet modem at our permanent home. We just purchased a new arris modem for our temporary home and I can’t seem to open a new app because it recognizes the one I already have for a different modem. I have a different email address I can use but it won’t give me an option it just opens it up to the one I already have.
Post after post after post says you cannot put 192.168.0.1 and get to the admin login page any more. There used to be a Firefox work around and everyone keeps posting that as the solution.IT DOES NOT WORK. No matter what browser I used including Safari IT WILL NOT WORK.Does ANYONE know how to login the modem as of today 12/29/2024?My modem is a SBG6900-AC but that doesn’t matter because based on the comments many different Arris modems are having the same problem.Unplugging it doesn’t work, factory resetting it doesn’t work. NOTHING WORKS.And why isn’t Arris doing something about it. Apparently no browser due to security reasons will let us log in to our modems because we have an old protocol or something.
Hey Everyone! I need ypur HELP sticking to XFINITY. i'm not technical enough to really understand all of this. Just enough to make myself dangerous. Here goes! They are blaming my modems.For the reason, my download speeds are so slow. NETGEAR Night Hawk, NETGEAR C7000 2 and ARRIS G34. Slow download speeds. Ranging from 150 to max 350 ish.I had a 1000 gig plan. Just upgraded to 1200 because it was less expensive. Im in VERMONTI was told by a buddy of mine an independent contractor that xfinity and spectrum, both throttle down speeds to all other modems EXCEPT their own and or the 5 or 6.They have on their approved list on the website. I bought this router/modem and got it connected with my internet provider, everything was fine until I noticed the 2.4ghz connection no longer had internet access. The 5ghz still works but I have electronics that need the 2.4ghz.
I recently purchased an Arris G34. The two home Wi-Fi networks are enabled to broadcast as well as the guest Wi-Fi network but the guest network isn’t broadcasting. I am unable to see it in any device. Any guidance would be appreciated.On what I don’t think is related, for some reason the primary home network kicks some of my devices out as having an incorrect password despite repeated attempts to re-enter while other devices accept the same exact password. I’m pretty sure they were correctly entered. The second home network doesn’t do that--so I just use the second home network as the primary. But just throwing it out in case someone thinks I have a defective device.
