S33 | S34

Good morning,Can anyone please tell me if I can readily connect 2 WiFi routers (one to each Ethernet port) on an S34 modem?I have a detached garage and want to have a separate (from the house) LAN in it. Thank you.

I have “Front Panel Lights” set to “Off under normal conditions” to disable the front LED indicator. This works wonderfully. However the WAN ethernet port’s LED is still present. With the 2.5Gb port connected to my mesh network, the LED constantly flashes green non-stop to indicate traffic.This is very distracting at night. Is it possible at all to force a solid color or add an option to disable the LED under working conditions?

My S33 seems to be having the same issue as many others on this forum. Constant noise with orange light / light blue light. I checked with my ISP and everything is good on their end but still no wifi. I’m on the east coast and customer service isn’t open until 11am here. Need my WiFi backup and running ASAP. Wondering if anyone has had ARRIS send them a replacement modem and how long that normally takes. 

What is the network name for this?

The Xfinity installer called his tech support and they speculate that the box the modem came in was never correctly scanned by Best Buy, where I bought it. They said the “mac address” is the problem, and that I have to take it back to Best Buy for them to scan it properly. Anyone else have this problem?

Hello,I’ve 1Gbps/350Mbps internet now. I bought S33v3 to support this tier since MB8600 didn’t work good with it. But the upload appear to be limited around 45Mbps. ISP tech checked everything and I couldn’t find a problem and said this modem doesn’t support the higher upload speed.  Based on the event log, I think the correct config is not in place because some issue with either modem or the provisioning itself. I can’t believe S33 can’t support higher speed.Can someone tell what’s wrong here ? I keep getting the same error message using admin for username and password for the password for the web access. I’ve also tried admin for password (all lower case).I then did a reset with the button on the bottom. The modem rebooted, but it still won’t take the default username and password. This modem was new out of the package and is successfully connected with my spectrum internet. Device Status button works fine. Any suggestions? Thanks

I just purchased an ARRIS Surfboard S34 as I upgraded to 800 mbs speed.  I have internet connection with a constant blue light on the front of the modem but the connection on the back of the modem is flashing yellow. Xfinity says it is not a problem on their end. This modem was a recommendation from Xfinity.  What can the issue be?  Thanks for any help.

I have an active warranty and my s33 modem is making noises and driving my entire family mad. How do I file a claim?

I am just trying to register my Arris S34 and it keeps telling me the serial# is incorrect.

Hello all, does the V3 after the product name ,for example S33v3 mean its the 3rd revision of the product, or does it mean its the 3rd firmware version of the product?

Hi,I have the following Arris Setup:Modem : S33Wifi Router : W121 Kit - Two W21 - SURFboard mAX Mesh Wi-Fi 6 system - AX6600 Speeds.My Xfinity Plan is 1200 Mbps download and 35 Upload.Everytime i run speedtest, i dont get more than 400 MBPS download & 30 MBPS upload.If i reach out to Xfinity, they are promoting the Xfinity Gateway for monthly rent.Any suggestions how to speed up using existing Arris S33 + W121 Kit Setup ?

My S33 has been making an annoying high pitched sound for about a month.  The sound got significantly worse today and it stopped working. Plugged in my old sbg6580 and contacted my ISP and now I have Internet back. Arris expects me to have a cpu with an Ethernet port but not many laptops come with Ethernet ports anymore. Nether my laptop not my finances laptop have Ethernet ports. Arris says if I can't connect a computer to it there nothing they can do for me. Modem is still under warranty until Sept. 

I just purchased Arris Surfboard S33 and I need my WIFI Username & Password. It is not in the box.

I bought an ARRIS S33 2 years ago and just the other day it started making a horrible whining noise. Now it will not connect to anything. I get a red light and constant noise. I have unplugged and left it alone for hours and came back to try again and still it will not work. I wanted to contact support but the chat is down and there is no email/phone number. What can I do? My S/N states it is still within warranty. I bought an S34 for the interim while I try and get this fixed. 

The only way I have logged into the web interface was with the coax cable disconnected. This isn’t helpful because it doesn’t show any data. I connect the coax cable and try again, browser says site can’t be reached and times out. Does Spectrum not allow access or something? This is my personal modem. Why can’t I access the web manager?

I purchased a new s34 for Cox because it says they work together. When I try to set up S34 on Cox I get an error message stating they are incompatible. This is for Cox 2g  Docsis 3.1 system. 

I just activated my new surfboard modem S33 and my computer internet is working fine but my apple tvs are not even though they show connected to ethernet. Can you help with this?

One cell phone in our household has ‘privacy warning’ and cannot access the internet. Everything else is working fine including all other cellular devices in the network.   Cannot get online to see what is connected. Need to reset username and password on Arris and do not see where to send email to reset 

On August 3, 2024, I activated my new Arris S34 modem thru the Xfinity app.This morning, I called Xfinity to ask, what’s my firmware update schedule.Xfinity said, Arris is responsible for that.Where do I go from here?Thank you!

Installed s33 modem, should I not get a new internet name to set up in settings? 

I bought my S33 in July 2023. A few weeks ago (Jan 2025) my S33 began making a noticeable buzzing/squeaking sound, which seems to have gotten louder. Hard to notice with TV on (right next to it) but in a quiet room its ultra annoying. Connectivity didn't seem to be affected though. To try to fix the noise I tried briefly unplugging it and plugging it back in. That didn't help. So, I tried to unplug it and let it sit for a bit, when I plugged it back in it gave me a white status light and makes a constant rhythmic buzz squeak now, no internet connection. Left it that way for several minutes and status/connection did not change. What's going on here?

Good morning, I have a ARRIS - SURFboard S33 32 x 8 DOCSIS 3.1 Multi-Gig Cable Modem. (Purchased Oct 2021) I switched to an Xfinity modem for a while due to a sales pitch.  I tried all day yesterday to get my S33 back online.  The reps at Xfinity kept telling me that there was an outage in my area. It wasnt an outage, my S33 apparently had some files that needed to be updated in the modem.  I spent 5 hours in chat mode with Xfinity and 5 reps. Xfinity indicated that the files were updated to teh S33.  How do I know for sure?  Is there a way to test it beyond connecting and activating the unit through Xfinity again.  What other options are possible to test the speed and operation of the modem?  I prefer not to go through that again.  Thank you all
