S33 | S34

Wondering, can Arris support configure their (MINE) modem for say Comcast, to work on their network?

Hello, after many hours working with comcast and missed sleep trying to provision my new S33 modem, I had a thought to log into it but couldn't. So I factory reset the S33 & was then able to connect. Looked at log & see a critical error TVL-11. Basically, saying the MAC id doesn't match the model in comcasts system saying its something other than the S33. So, when they send signal to provision it, it fails. How can mac id & model be different. Tried calling modem support but they are not open yet. Has anyone seen this before? Is there a fix besides returning it & posting a very negative review?

I have a Sony Bravia  Google Play TV. My service provider is Comcast and I connect to Xfinity TV program on a HDI port and  Google Play is configured for the port called Channel . I began having service interruption issues on my Sony Bravia Google Play about 1 month now. The Google Play App would just hang and not load at all while in the same instance the NetFlix app would load wihout issues indicating that this is NOT a network issue on my network. The Netflix APP  has  its own icon and loaded without issues and have no issues with Xfinity programming loading  That tells me that my TV is working ok, no issues with the sound or picture.  Ive began getting messages from SurfBoard and Fing suggesting that services have been handed off.  The XFINITY Remote controls the volume when ocassionally  my Sony Bravia Google Play TV  works which suggests there may be some crossfunctioning.  

About a month ago my s33v2 starting making a high pitched whining noise.  At that time the internet was slow but power cycle fixed it (the internet, not the whining noise).Now the modem seems to have stopped working completely.  I power cycled the modem and router several times, tried multiple cables (both to router and directly to PC) and neither the router nor PC detects any connection.  Checked with xfinity and their service is fine but no modem is detected.  Held reset for awhile but still nothing.Modem is still under warranty but support is closed today.  Any advice?

S34 activated with xFinity for “internet only” service, no voice. The 1-Gig port does not seem to be useable, at least for my VOIPo service.Do xFinity settings capture the 1-Gig port, even if xFinity voice is not used? If they control it, given I don’t use xFinity voice, can I log onto the S34 and somehow open the port for my use? If not, can I request xFinity to release the 1Gig port to me?I get it that I can work through the various xFinity support options and at some point get this eleveated a time or two to get to someone there who can actually answer my questions and not just read me scripts, but I am hoping an S33/34 user has been through this and can provide practical info first pass.Thank you, Bill

My new S33v3 modem works fine and is connected to Xfinity. When I try to register it with Arris for the warranty, when the online form validates the model, it tells me the serial number and model number do not match. I’ve tried entering the serial number multiple ways, same results. I verified the serial number through logging into the modem, as well as the tag on it. The registration screen tells me to call a phone number which is answered - no voice or message - then disconnects after a few seconds. If I try the online chat, it asks to check the warranty status first, which of course it fails because I am unable to register it. Any suggestions? Not feeling all warm and fuzzy at this point. This is admittedly a minor thing, but annoying. My S33 modem recently had a problem booting and connecting. Thanks to this forum, we figured out it was the power supply going bad; substituted another from an external hard drive and the modem booted and connected fine.My 2-year warranty on the modem runs until Sept. 2025, but when I contacted support about a replacement power supply, I was told that “accessories” are only covered for a year.Ok, cool. But where is that documented? The warranty card for the modem says software is covered for 90 days, and “(B) for the Product (excluding software), for a period of two (2)years from the date of purchase from ARRIS or from an authorized ARRIS reseller.”I don’t see any mention of accessories, though I do see a paragraph that says, basically, if it doesn’t have an Arris label on it, it’s not covered at all.  The power supply is not Arris branded, so, technically, I guess they don’t have to cover it at all.So

Purchased the S33 three weeks ago, and for the past week it has disconnected at least 4 times already. Twice it happened overnight, so I wasn’t able to see what was happening. Turns out the modem overheats and shuts off. It finally turned back on after 30 mins and the light was white and eventually it turned orange after an hour. It still was not online though. Took a good 3-4 hours before it was back online. 

S33v2 light solid amber, blink of bluegreen then back to solid amber.  No connection to any device but internet shows connected.  Power cycled  the provider and Arris devices, did the paperclip reset on the Arris device and checked the Ethernet and coax connections and found no problems with those.  No change, any ideas??

My Surfboardd S33 does not connect in the morning for few devices (laptop or desktop). For rest it works. When I connect the not-working devices via my cell phonehotspot these work immeidately. Can you help ? Thanks in advance

xfinity could not activate the modem. they could see the modem and run tests but could not activate it. Xfinity documents the modem as compatible.The modem’s front light was solid blue. The modem was very hot.My old modem still works so I don’t believe there is a problem with cables.Shall I exchange it? It was purchased from amazon.

How can I connect my modem?

The power went out and when the modem came back on it only flashes green. I pulled the power out for 30 seconds but no change. I tried doing the reset button while I was flashing and still only flashing green. Not sure what else I can do?

I've unplugged every cable, replugged, waited 5 minutes while everything was unplugged, waited 5 minutes after modem had solid light before powering the router, attempted powering both router and modem at the same time, tried timing them to be on at the same time, done a soft reset, and my modem still won't connect to wifi. Its done this before multiple times, but till now ive been able to resolve it and see it finally connect, but this time it will not. My asus router isn't old and it says theres a problem at the modem. My internet is fine. This only happens if the power goes out and it tries to reset.

I never recieved a tracking number or confirmation of a purchase made over a week ago. Any idea who to contact?

I’m replacing my Motorola MG7500 with a SB33v2 which will service my TPLink Archer router.  I think I’ve established service to Xfinity, but can’t seem to raise the router in any configuration -- my LAN connection shows a router through Xfinity which makes me believe the router on my side is being circumvented.I am getting traffic from the internet back to my laptop in the below configurations:cable → modem→ router→ switch->laptopcable → modem → router→ laptop.Do I need to reset anything on the modem proper?Is there some guidance on troubleshooting?Is there an intermediate step available to connect to router directly?   Thank you for any support you can offer. Sincerely,CW 

Hello, my surfboard S33 is stuck in green blinking light mode, I tried following steps I saw on another thread to fix it, nothing worked. Even tried restoring it to factory settings 

Cox, communication, changed my modem to my new arris.Surfboard model S33V3. However, I cannot get it to connect to wifi. 

I’ve had this S33v2 device in place with eero 6+ mesh devices and Xfinity ISP since Aug of 2023…it worked well until 2 days ago. The WiFi dropped, I assumed it to be a temporary Xfinity outage. After several hours I checked the modem and it had a solid while (greenish) light, normally its blue. The device was making a high pitched buzzing noise that I hadn’t previously heard. I disconnected both the power and coax, waited and reconnected…the light immediately turned solid white upon connecting power. I attempted to reset the device via the recessed reset button on the bottom of the device. I followed the instructions in the user manual holding the reset button for over 7 seconds, the light never changed from solid white. I’ve attempted several more times, holding the reset for up to a full minute, same result, the light never changes from solid white. Disconnecting the coax and connecting only power, the light goes immediately solid white. To rule out faulty coax, Ii swapped

I tried adding another s33 modem for garage using bridge mode.  Didn't appear to work so I disabled bridge and now I can't connect back to my network.  Spoke to isp and said all is good on their end.  Please help!

My S33 is rebooting constantly, overheating to the point where I had to put a fan underneath it and it's no longer helping.  How and where do I get the warranty process stated.  My Modem is under warranty till 2025.  

Hello, I purchased my Arris Surboard S33v2 from the ARRIS Amazon store on Jun 20, 2023, and I noticed it has been making a constant sounds lately when it was silent a month ago. I think I am also noticing buffering in videos when I was not before. What can I do while I’m still within the 2 year warranty?​

Not liking the changes some of my devices didn’t come through doesn’t show whether it’s 5G or 2.4 very dissatisfied. Can I change back I tried.

Well after talking to Cox on the phone and in the store, they can’t activate my new S34 modem.  This company really needs to stop advertising that it is compatible, because in Las Vegas, it is not.  I hope Amazon will take it back, if not I wasted 200 bucks for nothing.

Will I notice a significant /noticable speed change from a 5-year sb6190 to s33?
