SVG2482AC

We are experiencing periodic DNS failures on our network.We are Xfinity customers,  The SVG2482AC Surfboard modem is in bridge mode.I have checked the power levels as recommended in another thread,  all look ok.We are using an ASUS Wifi router RT-AX3000 (switched back to older RTX56 for testing)we have updated, reset, tested to no avail.the failure appears as webpages suddenly will not refresh,  and usually we receive a DNS response error.  the  failure resolves in 10-30 seconds. this happens to ALL phones and laptops at the same time, whether wired or Wifi.I cannot find anything in the modem nor router logs to explain.Traceroute results are inconclusive.  Here’s the QUESTION:  will/can a modem in “Bridge Mode” interfere with DNS requests?  I have not reached out ComCast yet because , well, Comcast...

Can someone tell me how to log in to my SURFboard SVG2482AC?

Model number is svg2482ac and I cannot access the admin page. I've tried multiple ways from the app, from my computer with ethernet, through wifi, nothing works. My isp says it's is connected and working. What can I do now?

A few weeks ago, outgoing calls from our Panasonic phone system (base station plus wireless handsets) began dropping after 20 - 50 seconds.  Xfinity tech rep had us plug the base station directly into the modem - didn’t help.  He also found water / ice in the coax connectors and replaced the line all the way to the pole - didn’t help.  We plugged an old-fashion wired phone directly into the modem - didn’t help.  Xfinity tech rep’s only other thought was that we had a modem problem.Has anyone else experienced this problem?  Does anyone have a suggestion?

I’ve been dealing with Comcast for a month to get voice service on an existing cable line. They were finally able to provision the service and send a signal to SVG2482AC so that it appears on the network. There is a dial tone and the modem will make calls. However, if one calls the number associated with the modem, the phone never rings. For the caller, it’s as though the line drops before any connection is made. No fewer than five technical people at Comcast have looked at this. They’ve re-provisioned and re-booted the modem multiple times to no avail. They have a service technician coming onsite tomorrow, but it’s not clear what they’ll be able to do. Any suggestions? I’m going to make sure the modem has the latest firmware before they arrive, but somehow I can’t believe that will help. I have to believe it’s something on Comcast’s end.

The modem disconnects from the internet every 10 minutes and reconnects within 3 seconds. This continues every 10 minutes 24 hours a day. Happens when hardwired as well as WIFI on 5G and 2.4g.Tried a factory reset. Didn’t work. Used different laptops, windows 10 as well as apple for debugging all the same results.Any suggestion will be appreciated.

Installed new SVG2482AC modem the Power, US/DS, Online lights are solid steady white BUT 2.4 GHz & 5 GHz & Tel lights blink/flicker continuously.  Is it normal for 2.4 GHz, 5 GHz & Tel to blink continuously?

I use a SVG2482AC and wifi is slow even nearby.  I use TP-Link extenders to help areas of the house where I am most, but wifi speed is still slow.  Wired cable modem using Xfinity give me about 750mbs to my MacBook Pro, buy wifi around the house is weak. Will a new maxPRO W31 mesh wifi network work with a SVG2482AC cable modem?  Is this the fastest configuration? 

What is the best extender to use with a SVG2482AC?

I have been using Parental Controls successfully.  A few months ago they just stopped working.  I am trying to use Parental Controls to block my child’s access during certain hours.  This is no longer working.  I have also tried to completely block a device.  This has no effect. As an alternative, I tried to download one of your phone apps to manage the device, but I haven’t found one that supports SVG2482AC.  Is there an app that works with this device?

Why does my modem keep restarting at least once or twice a day? 

I am trying to log on to gateway settings page but I have forgot password. I did a hard reset with paperclip in pinhole reset button on back of gateway(held in for 20 seconds). I went to log in page and used admin as username and password as password but a box popped up and said incorrect password.. What Gives?

Trying to connect phone ( not mobile) to modem. Have spent hours online with xfinity and still nothing. If I reconnect their unit it works.any suggestions?thank you
