I just activated my new wifi and voice modem and I didn't see the option to create the wifi password. How do I change the wifi password now after activation?

Pl help to change wifi password.

What is my wifi security key,?

I am trying to change my WAN Default Gateway Address (IPv4), but I have no idea how. Can someone please help me with this?

I use an Arris SVG2482 AC modem/router and would like to improve the range of the WIFI.The router is set on factory default settings (channel auto) however the signal is weak in the areas furthest from the router. The router is located in the most central room and with a Xfinity cable connection.What Mesh WIFI product will connect to my router without having to create a new SSID while giving me the best possible extended WIFI signal?

I have many devices in my home that are connected to my Arris modem. Some at 2.4 and others at 5 GHz. How do I connect my alarm system to the 2.4 GHz? I need to separate that device and make sure it's on the 2.4 GHz. Can anyone help?

I wanted to turn off some of the Wifi  because I don’t need all of that EMF.The first time I disabled the 5.0 in the control panel and it seemed to shut it off.   In the status panel it showed inactive and the LED indicator (for 5.0) on the modem went dark. At some point since then the LED light started flashing again even tho the status still says inactive.Why would the light still be flashing if it’s inactive?And what made it change?You can turn the wifi off, either individually or altogether right?  Thanks

How do I create a Network for my WiFi? Can’t switch to my SVG2482AC Modem with Comcast/ Xfinity because there isn’t a Network to connect to and they won’t help. When I reactivate and connect the rental from Xfinity my old Network pops back up and I can use it. Was “chatting” for hours and all they did was sell me a new phone! 

I have a Loran device which uses a power injector to supply POE.When I hook up the input lan cable to the injector (The mostly non-powered side) and  have the other end directly in the gateway/modem (just called gateway after this) I don’t get a connection.  The lights by the ports don’t light up and my device is not connected according to the UI However, if I use the same cable and go to a switch first, it works just fine.  The lights light up and my device shows connected. Do I need a “crossover” cable in this application ?  (one where the wires have switched positions relative to the jack on opposite ends)Thanks

Hello, I was wondering if it possible to use an Netgear AX1800 EAX14 with an Arris SVG2482AC? Is it possible to connect both together with Ethernet. If not what would anyone suggest to use.

Recently on my Arris SVG2482AC my ethernet ports have stopped working, WIFI still works fine. The ethernet ports within the web access show they are inactive and down but there is equipment connected but still do not work. Was there a firmware update recently causing these to stop working or is it time to replace, it is almost 6 years old. I have factory reset the router also just as precaution. I have it connected to a UPS with surge protection so thinking unlikely if power surge would have caused an issue. I have other equipment connected to the same UPS with no issues. Thanks

I have a SVG2482AC with non-responsive parental controls. For about two years I was able to control which devices in my home could access the internet. One day those setting stopped working. All devices can access the internet, at all times of the day and night.The parental controls that I set are not being implemented. I can block a device, and it still can access the internet. Sometimes one device will be listed multiple times with varying IP address. I’ve blocked all the computer names/mac addresses listed for the device I want to block, and it doesn’t work.I’ve tried blocking both windows pc’s  and apple devices. It doesn’t matter.It is worth noting that when a new device is added to the network, it cannot access any website that is on the blocked list. However once it’s be added as a trusted device, the parental controls do not work on it either.How can I gain control over which devices have access to the internet again?

Just connected my svg2482ac, how do i manage the connected devices/ monitor my childs use of the internet 

I recently bought this modem secondhand. It’s out of warranty.I can’t do a factory reset. Tried holding down button for 10 seconds, 30 seconds, tried unplugging and replugging, even tried the ‘30-30-30’ method (hold reset for 30 seconds while powered on, continuing 30 seconds while powered off, continuing 30 seconds while powered back on), nothing worked and the network name will not drop off / return to the original name before the first owner set it up (i.e. ‘Arris-3010’ etc).The guy I bought it from is very tech savvy and wondering if he made some kind of change to it to prevent factory resets. He changed the password on the 10.0.0.1 page from the default (which is ‘password’) and doesn’t remember what it is, so I can’t change the modem settings that way.When I press the reset button, the modem does reboot after 10-15 seconds of holding it down,  but the network name does not reset, and the admin/password credentials don’t reset.It’

Suggestions on how to disable or dim the led lights on my Surfboard SVG2482AC? The modem lights up my whole room at night. Taping front doesn’t work (light splashes out the side) and not seeing an option for disabling in the admin software area. I’ve resorted to throwing a dark cloth over the unit but it runs warm and weakens the signal.

Currently all my devices are working under one password. I need to access to make a second password and split my devices between the 2.4G and 5G.

Nonresponsive Aris modem. Electric pole took a lightning hit last night. Once everything was repaired outside my arrows surfboard SVG 2482 AC will not power up. Can I get this unit repaired?

Hello Surfboard community! I have a used SVG2482AC Modem that I am using with my Xfinity internet service that I am having trouble setting up.I have setup and registered my modem with Xfinity customer service and I am able to connect to the internet through the modem via ethernet. I setup a Wifi network name and password through the initial Web Manager login page but cannot locate that Wifi network on any device I have (phone, laptop, Xbox). I have been trying to log into the Gateway/Web Manager using the default “admin/password” as many different people/help forums suggested and that combination does not work. I have tried so many combinations and keep getting 5 minute timeouts. I am hoping someone here may know how to help before I try paying money to the Arris customer service support or buying a separate router. The image below is what I see on the login page. Drops internet  intermittent 

I own a Surfboard SVG2482AC, getting downloads around 200 but xfinity plan should go up to 1200 mps  . I have no issue with service but am clearly overpaying for service I am not receiving. Xfinity is blaming the modem (it is 3.5 years old) saying I should use their modem as they will always keep it updated. How do I know if it really IS my modem and if I should purchase a new modem, or if it is their service?  I only discovered this issue when trying out Verizon 5G service and comparing speeds online, so I do not know if it has always been this speed or not. (disclaimer- This was put in by our builder/tech division and I am not super techy so please explain to me like a toddler :)

Just reset my parents SVG2482AC modem, after I reset it I saw both 2,4 and 5 g bands listed on my phone and I selected the 5g band and enter the password listed on the router but then a screen pops up forcing me to name the device and enter in a password, and the 2.4 band disappears- this is a problem bc they have a JAM Wi-Fi speaker that only operates on the 2.4 band so I need to be able to switch bands. I have an Arris G34 modem myself that lets me switch bands easily when I need to, it also didn’t force me to rename the device and create a password if I reset it, which I do often. Is there a way to fix this on the svg2482?

I HAVE A RESALE SVG2482AC SURFboard.  I WAS ABLE TO GO ONLINE AND CHANGE THE PASSWORD, AND WHEN I TRY TO CONNECT TO MY LAPTOP IT ASKS FOR PASSWORD AND SECURITY KEY.HOW DO I FIND THE SECURITY KEY,  WHAT IS IT?
