what does Event log id numbers mean.  I see the numbers but no not know what they mean. 

When I go to my SB6190 admin page, it does not have a login screen. It opens directly to status. Also, I seem to be missing some more advanced tabs. This admin page looks basic. 

can you assign the wifi setting to different devices. meaning if I want my iPad to stay on the 5g and no 2.4 we’re do I do that on the app ?

After going in circles looking for a solution to the “security” concerns of Chrome and Edge that result in not allowing a 192.168.0.1 login, I finally tried old Internet Explorer ("C:\Program Files\internet explorer\iexplore.exe") and Voila! Apparently, Chrome/Edge substitute https in place of http - it’s a “feature.”(Microsoft may discontinue Internet Explorer in future but some other browsers also may work)

We just dropped our Frontier FiOS service (was formerly Verizon FiOS) and they told us to do whatever we wanted with the equipment.  One of the pieces is an Arris VMS1100 DVR.  We don’t mind giving it away *BUT* I would rather clear the hard drive first.  Found the manual and was able to get into the BUI (Basic User Interface) and found the manual states to go to 01 Diagnostics and within 5 seconds depress DVR three times and then FiOS TV.  We have several remotes and tried several of them.  Can get around the menus find but when we select 01 Diagnostics and then do DVR three times and then FiOS TV, it does absolutely nothing.  Just sits there on the Diagnostics screen. Is there some trick we’re missing to clear the DVR hard drive?

I was part of the W21 Beta test last year and things have been pretty smooth for the better part of a year.  A few weeks ago, when logging into SBC I got a service not available error and was logged out.  Since then I have not been able to get re connected in the app.  I finally went through the whole process of resetting the base and satellite today and tried to connect using the production SBC app and get past the create network step, and then during device registration it gives a 0000-1506 error saying “something went wrong, your warrant and support registration has failed and we are unable to reach the server.”  Then if I hit continue I get a 0003-1014 message and a “Service is currently not available” message.I am on IOS with the App Store version of the app and do not have the previous phone on which the errors first started occurring.  Currently sitting here with my secured network up but also the Onboarding network which is open.  Any help would be appreciated. Firmware version

I have an SBG8300 modem/router connected to Cox cable.  Last year it was working completely fine.  Then I moved it to a new house - same Cox cable - but had to buy an aftermarket power cord from Amazon.Now the internet drops once a week and I have to reboot the modem (unplug and plug it back in) in order to get connectivity back up and running.Any ideas?  Is the unit overheating?  Is the aftermarket power cord causing issues?  The modem/router is roughly 1.5 years old and for several months, wasn’t even being used.Thanks!

Does anyone have a copy of the AX013ANC manual or a safe location where I can download one? I am trying to troubleshoot a AX013ANC box through Xfinity that has a solid orange showing which was not there previously. The box seems to be functioning, but the light concerns me.

Hey all,I’ve got an SBG10 modem that I’ve owned for almost two years now. I’ve had an issue the entire time where the Internet drops randomly for a couple minutes while I’m still connected to Wi-Fi. I’ve had about 6 calls with customer service trying to solve the problem. We’ve tried power cycling, factory resets, boosting levels, changing the location of the device, changing the cable, changing Wi-Fi channels, and even disabling wmm. It’s not the service provider-I changed states and providers and still had the same problem. (I had xfinity at first and blamed it on them.) I’ve got Spectrum now, and they say the problem’s with the modem. Anyone else have any other ideas?

Folks, I was wondering, is there any way to get shell access into a 3801HGV-B router? We have a 3801HGV-B in our household and it has started to malfunction a little, with devices disconnecting from the network at random times. I was thinking perhaps I could access a shell inside of it so that I can troubleshoot it myself. Does anyone know how to accomplish this? 5 months ago my brother-in-law purchased an Arris SBG8300 Modem/Router, which he understood would eliminate a monthly rental fee from Cox Cable.  He has issues communicating so I advocate for him.The Arris Modem/Router worked fine for about a month and then started to degrade as far as buffering. When we called Arris Customer Support, we were told the problem was how Cox Cable set up the Modem/Router.My brother-in-law then had a Cox technician come over.  After several tests, the technician concluded there was nothing wrong with the internet, that the buffering was in fact the Modem/Router.We then called Arris customer support back and was told to change some settings in the Modem/Router via the computer.  The changes made no difference in the what was now constant buffering. Hi folks, I just found Arris’ specifications for SB6190 signal levels here. It says the Downstream Bonded Channels power should be between -15dBmV and +15dBmV.  My power levels are at 11.X dBmV to 13.X dBmV.  However, in the provided example, it shows -0.1dBmv to +0.2dBmv.  So my question is this?  Should my downstream power levels be between -0.15dBmV and +0.15dBmV or should it be between -15.0 dBmV and +15.0 dBmV?  If it’s NOT the latter, then I should be calling Cox.

However, per the Windows steps, each time I try to go to the 192.168.0.252 IP, I get an error. As “192.168.0.252” I get “site can’t be reached,” and as “\\192.168.0.252” I get “file couldn’t be accessed.”What could be holding it up? I thought possibly it is trying to connect with my Windows credentials instead of my Arris credentials, but I assume I’d get a prompt if so. As I said, MacOS connected without issue, but Windows 10 will not. What are your thoughts? Thanks in advance.

Hello there, can anyone help me interpret my upstream/downstream logs? My internet keeps dropping out with greater and greater frequency it seems. If it’s important, when the internet briefly goes out, the lights on my modem and router remain on/solid. Recently, there are times when it doesn’t connect back automatically and then I have to establish a connection again via my router. I just purchased my router in March of 2021. I received the modem (SB6190) from a friend in 2019 and have had no issues until recently. It looks like the Upstream Bonded Channels are lower than the accepted levels, but I’m not quite sure what that means. I also refreshed the page after 10+ minutes and provided both reports below. For Upstream Bonded Channels on the first report, it shows no readings for channels 1-3. The only light on my modem/router which turns on is the power light, The wifi lights do not come on and when Iook at the username “network” it said that it is out of area even though it is in the same room and has always worked previously. Modem/router is Arris Model TG 1682G. Operating system is Windows 11. How can I get internet back and the lights on the modem/router turned on?

I updated / refreshed my SURFboard Central app for Android in ~September 2022 and since then there appears to no longer be an option to administer parental controls.  I had set up profiles to enable/disable certain devices to have access to the internet but that is no longer available with this update.  As a parent, I find it useful to enable/disable Wifi for home devices so that my children do not have late hour access.  Where the app used to have a Parental Control menu, there is now this “My Experiences” feature.  I’m sure this is a fine feature, but parental controls are sort of important too, eh? If I’m just plain blind, can you advise where to go for the Parental Controls feature on the new Android app?  If the feature has been removed then why and when will it be reinstated? Firmware: AXR.0610.220518.13App version: 4.0.9Model Name: W21

I just setup my G36 and was experiencing slow 5ghz connections on my phone. I did a speed test and it was barely registering. The 2.4 was smoking fast. I power cycled with same results. Any ideas why tne slow/dropping 5ghz? 

In Australia,we “Have to use”, your CM8200B, Cable Modem, which we are not allowed access to. ie,no possibility,of improving performance. I, for 1, find this un-acceptable! Any idea’s, onhow to fix this problem?

I have been running Vonage VOIP with no problems for a few years. Recently it has stopped working and seems to be an issue with the firewall blocking ports 5060/5061.VOIP works with firewall set to low, but not any of the higher settings.I have tried port forwarding which worked for a few days and then stopped working.Any suggestions on how to unblock those specific ports at a high firewall setting?guy 

A tablet purchased a couple of months ago would not connect to the Aris Router reliably until I reserved an IP for it.  Since then I have twice had to change the reserved IP to  get it to connect because the Router sees the MAC address of the tablet as an unknown despite the fact that it corresponds to the reserved IP address.  Can anybody make snes of this?

I have Eastlink internet with an Arris DG3270A modem.  We recently had a hurricane knocking out our power for the next few days so I am running a generator but when I plug the modem into it I get connected with no internet.  I am assuming there is something before the modem that needs power as well.  But I can not find anything else in the house that it is connected to.  Can anyone confirm there is something else that may need power that I am just not seeing?  Thanks for any help.

I just had this activated last night and having some channel issues and only the downstream light is blue. The upstream light is green. Spectrum  says they don’t see any problems. Is this normal? 

This is for my home network system.  I have 2 month old Arris SBG7600AC2. It works very well for my needs.  I would simply like some extended wifi coverage.  According to Oolka, over a cabled connection (not wifi) my internet service provides me 120 Mbps down and about 10 Mbps up.  I know we currently have the lowest service from our provider and I don’t expect much to change in the future to warrant paying for a faster connection.  I average 246 GB per month and at most 12.5 GB per day. I don’t have any bottlenecks or performance issues from an internet perspective. But I lose some wifi bars at both distance extremes in the house. That said, I’d like to extend my wireless range a bit. The structure is a 2 story 62 x 24 footprint. The current placement of the existing 7600 is pretty much in the middle.  I have some questions: 1. Would I be better off from a wifi range perspective to add a range extender (or two) or use one of the mesh systems?  If I use a mesh system, which one is best
