I insisted the router is fine (it's a couple year-old Asus RT-AX86U).So then he did some actual testing on the outside line and said all is good. But he did change out an attenuator where the line comes into the basement, is barreled together, and runs directly to my modem. He said it was the wrong attenuator for the service.I have whatever the top package is... gigaspeed or something like that.When I first had an issue last night, I was getting 800 download speed, and only 1.5 upload. Although today when I checked, before he came, I was getting 800 and 40. After he left I am getting 670 and 11.His contention is that the modem is fluctuating and needs to be replaced.I feel like he was initially being lazy and didn't want to do any real testing.... so I am still not confident in his conclusion. I have owned this SBG8300 for a couple of years now and ever since the day I set it up, I have not been able to actually see the ports forwarding details for any ports that have been previously setup. The screenshot bellow shows exactly what I am ever shown when accessing this page. I am able to add ports to be forwarded but I have no idea how to ever disable or edit them once they’ve been added since the information isn’t displayed regarding the current forwarded ports, even though they do exist.. It’s also important to mention that I have even tried using both of the Android apps that are on the marketplace and provided by Arris and I was unable to see the currently set ports being forwarded on there either.  Software:Software Image Name:AR01.01.139_050119_701.NCS.10Firmware Version:01.01.139.NCSRDK-B-LLC:rdkb-2.1-20161219SDK:7.0Wi-Fi Driver:4.6.92.8.26.0Hardware:Model:SBG8300Vendor:ARRIS Group, Inc.Hardware Revision:6 ----------I would greatly appreciate any suggestions or solutions

My Arris G34 has been deemed defective by Xfinity. Their technician checked all of my cables inside and outside and they all have strong signal. The Surfboards light is green and flickering and there is no wifi available.  My warranty runs out Feb 28th, 2024. I need to get this done quickly, as I also have no security system because of this and there's been a lot of break-ins and thefts in my neighborhood recently.

I am looking to purchase the G54. The location will be on the main floor of my house, but my office is on the 2nd floor. Is there an extender I can connect to the G54, so I can access an ethernet connection in my office?

I’m trying to get a SIP circuit to register, but the SB8200 (used with Xfinity) is blocking something. When I switch to my AT&T circuit, the SIP comes up just fine. Is there a manual for this device? I can’t seem to find one.

My Arris Surfboard router one day decided it didn’t like my password. I’d like to set up a guest account.  Any way to get in or should I just buy a new router?

I bought a new unit and on first plug in I see the second blue light on, the other 3 are not lit. What does the 2nd blue light mean? 

When I tried to register G54 surfboard websites sees as G36 and post as it has been a used G36. How can I correct this is a brand new G54 and register properly?Thanks,Sal 

I have a new G36 with spectrum as service provider : I recently spoke to spectrum for the reason of slow speeds and continually intermittent connection. I have 1000 mbps and 6 month ago I had spectrum come to my house run a new line inside and out side . Can I get a solution for this I dint find any other way to contact you for service and spectrum blame the issue on my modem . Thank you 

This morning my wireless connections were working but I had no ethernet hardwire connections.  When I checked the router, none of the Front Panels lights were illuminated.  I logged into my router and checked Gateway>Hardware>Front Panel and Lighting Mode was set at Normal.  No firmware updates were reported to be installed.  I contacted my ISP to check my connection which was at full speed.  I proceeded with a Gateway Restart which re-established my ethernet Hardwire connection, then performed a Factory Reset and Unplugged the Router for 1 minute.  None of these procedures restored the Front Panel Lights to illuminate. Is there a new Firmware Update that I can download and install?  I currently don’t have the link to Arris Firmware Updates and need that link to see if this will solve my issue.

Does anyone have any idea when the TM3402 DOCSIS 3.1 Telephony Modem - Optimum will be back in stock? And is there another modem that I can buy that is compatible with Optimum service in Suffolk County, NY? Thanks!

I'm trying to connect x5042 extender to xfinity wifi router to extend my wifi range. It gets connected through ethernet cable but the wps connection fails to setup. Any help is appreciated.

Hii was called by xfinity team and they said that i have issues with my firewall and since i not using xfinity modem thats why i cant access their admin tool using 10.0.0.1 in this matter i need to contact my Original Equipment manufacturer for this issue and gave your

I have the SBG8300-89A5-5G modem. I set up a new password and it connects (usually) with all my devices. However, it will not connect to my blink camera. When I try, blink says the password isn’t correct (it is I have checked it numerous times and it matches what I have it set as). This hasn’t been a problem with my old modems. I have tried to reset the modem and the blink camera. It will still not connect. Very frustrating!!  Help!

Activated this thru my internet provider, he says he sees it connected and all looks good to him, but neither a wired connection or wireless works. Can access webpage when wired with a designated ip. Cant access using auto ip. No wireless devices will connect. Wired device using designated ip will only get you to device webpage, no place else. The wireless networks are broadcasting, and accept password but dont connect.

New G36 cable modem/router.  I only have the primary and one guest network enabled.  The others are disabled but the router is broadcasting 15 or so ‘wave_xx’ SSID.  They shows as being unlocked but you cannot connect to them.I’ve thought there may be a bug where you have to enable the network, then disable SSID broadcast, then disable the network again.  This didn’t help.  I’d like them to not broadcast.Any ideas?

I have to disable and enable the IPv4 DHCP server to get it to hand out addresses at least once per week.  It’s been doing this since I bought it and installed it a month ago.  I disabled the IPv6 DHCP server, but that has not helped.  I tried to find how I upgrade the router, but I haven’t had any luck finding that.  Here’s the version on it now:Software Image Name:AR01.02.078.04_092820_711.NCS.10Firmware Version:01.02.078.04.NCS

Hi All,I have a network created by a Arris SBG8300 modem/router. I am trying to access a remote Synology NAS running Plex on a DIFFERENT network. The SBG8300 firewall is blocking access to the remote NAS. I know this because.When I disable the firewall, all devices on the SBG8300 network can access the remote NAS and Plex server. When I access the remote NAS and Plex server from any other network, I can connect. The problem is definitely the SBG8300 firewall. So how configure the firewall to allow traffic through to the remote NAS and remote Plex? Thanks!

I have dealt with Arris Cust Svc 4x and have had Sparklight Techs out 3X to figure out why I cannot get more than about 250mbs download speeds through ethernet connection.  I have a 600 mbs plan and should be getting very close to that via ethernet.  Sparklight checked the incoming signal to the router and it came up 950mbs.  Throughput from the router registered in the low 300s.Sparklight says it’s a router problem, Arris says the upload power is too low, currently at 41.  Sparklight says they do not run the power any higher than that in their system and says that the power difference is not creating the low speed through put.  Arris says it does.  Sparklight will not change the power settings.  Arris had me change the WiFi channels to lesser used channels saying that it could make a difference even with Ethernet speeds?  What????  So I did a factory reset, changed channels and everything else exactly as they said, waited 24 hours, did a power cycle…..no joy….same issue.I’ve had this

reset router many times but to no avail. wifi pops up as connected but won’t connect to internet. a router problem since this is for all of our devices
