Wi-Fi Modems

I have forwarded port 22 (ssh) on my new g34, and it seems to work well for a time. I am able to establish an ssh connection from inside or outside my network using my public ip (ssh user@publicip) However, after a seemingly random amount of time, I am no longer able to connect to the forwarded port using my public IP from inside the LAN. Connections from outside the LAN continue to work fine (phone on 4g, other networks, etc...) and connections made using the local ip inside the LAN work fine. The issue only occurs when devices attempt to connect via my public IP while connected to my LAN.The same issue occurs on all forwarded ports. They work for a time, then stop. The biggest issues are caused by “port 80” being blocked. This prevents me from being able to access the website I host from home while using my computers at home. Hello all,  Odd one that I’m hoping people here can help me troubleshoot. I’ve got some services (Jellyfin, Nextcloud, etc) running on a home server behind a reverse proxy. Normally, I access these servers at [service].[mydomain].com. Currently, on my LAN, this is not working. If I try to access the services outside of my LAN at the reverse proxy domain, they are working, and if I access the services directly by IP and port, they are working on my LAN. However, within my LAN, they are not accessible at the domains. Since the services work and the reverse proxy works outside my network, it seems I’ve got an issue in the network itself. I’m using a SURFboard G34 which I’ve only had for a few weeks. I have looked in the router WebUI and nothing seems amiss, but I really don’t know what I’m looking for. Would appreciate any suggestions. Thanks!

Is there a way of disabling the router portion of the G36 and using it strictly as a cable modem?  If so, what are the steps?

When connecting the device the blue and green lights both blink slowly and they never turn solid green

I recently set up a G54 Modem/router in Xfinity without issue. Devices started connecting right away and I have no connection issues. However, Connected devices do not appear either on the app or web page. My Asus wifi7 router showed everything, This shows nothing.  Any idea how to get devices to appear in the connected list? 

I have A G34 network and all of a sudden our wifi network disappears, login to the G34 and all you can see is LAN connections, all of the wifi settings are gone and nobody has reset the G34 and Arris Support blamed it on an ISP update but I’m still checking that out.  Will keep you updated when I hear from Spectrum.

what to be entered instead of "admin"  ?

I need a replacement.  And I’m stuck in a circle trying to find online help on this site.

I have G54 and it is setuped and work with no problem. I can access to admin backend using my email and password from modem interfaceI installed the surfboard app on my phone and I am trying to login into app with hope it can allow me to check status of my router without need of login at web interface.However on the welcome screen on phone where it says enter your email address,  the username is set to admin and it down not allow change it to my actual email ( it is read only set to admin).  Why the username is hard coded? I left the username as admin and  entered my password. then clicked on sign in.  It shows error message that can not login into system which make sense. however there I can click on Continue On boarding button but this time it displays the welcome screen again with login input and allow me to enter my email address. I see my email is already  there. great. however unlike previous welcome screen this form does not have password input.Now i

Factory reset the G34 after I couldn’t get the app working.  My thought was because I changed the SSID, the app will no longer connect. I may have done this via the web interface.  Anyway, after factory reset, the app worked just fine.  Then I went into web interface and changed user/password, and SSID.  I can no longer get the app working after five reinstalls, etc.  I am not going to reset the router again as I have the house working wifi and cable. I called support for the first time. The agent kept going in circles reading from a script.  The agent apparently never ran or saw the app.  The agent suggested I just use the web interface on a phone (i.e. keep zooming in to the page).  I could not get the agent to let me speak with a supervisor or open a ticket… We disconnected. It seems to be that the app and web interface are not in sync and the latter will lock out the app.  I have attached some screens. My G36 disconnected from my ADT security cameras. All window and door sensors are connected. The cameras won't reconnect. Has anyone else had a similar issue? Need to know why they don't connect. 

My router is plugged in and my phone says i have wifi but when i have wifi turned on everything is really slow a d i cant connect to my xbox 

Internet went out during a storm and now won’t reconnect  IP provider is Optimim I have reset a number of times. Spoke with Optimum and they said the signal is fine. The light are flashing blue for Internet and green for WiFi.  I can connect to the WiFi but still not Internet access. help please.  

My ISP is RCN Astound and I’m trying to “Bring my own” equipment. The system is working fine since I’m working 5-days from home and my wife works 3-days from home. Before I invest in my own equipment, one of my options is to replace my existing components. I have an Arris DG3450 and the router and extenders are Eero units. I’d like to purchase the same modem, DG3450 unit but can’t find it in Amazon nor in Best But. Anyone, even ARRIS, able to find a NEW Arris DG3450 for sale? If so, where and how much?

Regarding SBG7600AC2, there is a login screen , which does not accept the user defined password. Moreover, the default login credentials do not match the default username and password in the user manual. Finally during factory reset, the credentials do not default to the default username and password in the user manual.To reproduce this screen,navigate to the usual 192.168.0.1 and click on the very top tab/link “Operation” found between “Configuration” and “Logout”.Questions:What is this log in screen and what are its credentials, and its default credentials?Why is there no mention of this in the user manual?How does one reset these login credentials?

We have a ARRIS G36 modem, with a 1 TB home coaxial connected  Xfinity link going to it. During every conference call, I either lose the connection, freeze up, or have generally bad connection. The modem is 1 year old, I am directly connected to it via Cat5E cable, there are 3 other devices connected wirelessly, what could be the issue???

Out of nowhere, I got kicked off all my devices and my wifi just disappeared. Though, okay, maybe I should just reset it, but when I try to do 30-30-30 factory, nothing happens. Any ideas? 

Do firmware updates take place automatically on the Arris SB SBG7400 or is there something that I have to do to make this happen?

How do I turn off the wifi on the Surfboard modem/router combo?? We are installing the eeros mesh system. 

I believe there is more than one issue going on. But this is what I know. I lose connectivity both wired and ethernet. sometimes for a second, sometimes for minutes. The lights on router onlly sometimes change from blue to orange during this. I had seen aquite a few Event logs not sure what to make of them. Every check of Qam shows in parameters. I dont know if these logs can give some guidance. I am a remote WFH rep and need stable internet I bought this modem router for the 4 ethernet ports and wifi 6. We are a 3 person sometimes 4 person family. Son’s a gamer, We have Amazon devices and Cameras and Streaming SErvice not to mention phones, tablets, ets… Average about 30 devices at any given time. Please help. We have a previous wifi extender - TP Link that was easy to connect on our old router/modem as the old one had a button to connect it. This new surfboard does not. How do I connect this wifi extender now??

I signed into my guest network and now I'm unable to get out of it and back to the normal network (not guest). Every time I try to sign into the not guest network it's saying wrong password, which is not wrong. This all came about from me struggling to connect my blink camera system, which failed miserably. 

Not sure what’s going on but some connections to my home network are forwarding to an external captive portal site - connectivitycheck. I did not set this up. How do I stop this from happening? This is not a wifi hotspot - it’s my home network. Not every connection gets forwarded to the external site - only some of them. And this is not a wifi problem - the wifi connections in the router are working fine. It’s some of the ethernet connections that are getting forwarded. I know they are connected to the internet because they are bringing up that external page, but they show as not connected because that captive portal appears to be blocking the connection. I am on Xfinity and the external connectivitycheck captive portal is bringing up an xfinity login screen as if I was on a wifi hotspot, which I am not. But again, the wifi connections and some ethernet connections are working fine. And all connections show as connected via Advanced IP Scanner even if they are blocked by the portal.
